Hi all....
Just wondering how much protein a person should have every day? I'm 60 years old, 5'9" and weigh 202. I've been told different things, and thought that I would check with those who know a heck of a lot more than me.. Thanks

Generally, 1.5-2.2g/kg is a good range based on the studies. Most women I know do well with 100-130g.

Thanks for the information. I set my limit to 126. Will try this for a couple of weeks and see if my weight loss changes for the better

Increasing protein and decreasing protein won't really help you lose weight for the better. Calories controls weight loss. And while their is a thermogenic component to protein (burns more calories through digestion), it's quite low. If anything, it will support metabolism, muscle retention and most importantly, satiety.

    Here, use this calculator: calculator.net/protein-calculator.html

And remember to subtract the protein calories from your daily caloric intake!

This gave me a range from 58-204 g of protein in a day.... not very descriptive.
