Diagnosed at the age of 5 I have been diabetic for 20 years so far. Recent events have made me realize how alone I feel when it comes to this disease. I never been to classes or camps as a kid. Though my grandfather has diabetes we don't connect through it. I've realized that I have never even seen another diabetic check their blood sugar or take insulin. I've never seen another person wearing an insulin pump and every time I go to the doctor or end up in the hospital I'm surrounded by people who are way older then me. So I'm just reaching out to any other diabetics who just need someone to motivate with and relate to in this crazy world of ours. Whether it's a laugh, a story, or a problem it's always good to know you're not alone.

I'm a recently diagnosed type 2 diabetic, there is a pretty good diabetes group here, discuss blood sugar numbers and all the fun things that impact life. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1772-type-2-diabetes-support-group It was originally specific to type2's but there's more than a few type 1s and type 1.5s there as well.

I would also suggest the diabetes subreddit on reddit. ( http://reddit.com/r/diabetes ), it is full of information and very supportive people generally.

That's rough situation to be it because you never have any control over it, I've joined this community myself because I have been battling diabetes and now high cholesterol. Everyone here is generally helpful and motivating. Be a strong warrior because we are all born into this world with some fight to win!
