Happy Easter!
I hope everyone has been relaxing and celebrating the holiday with their loved ones. (if you celebrate the holiday). I've been keeping a strict clean diet all week to prepare for treating myself to some chocolate eggs and a nutritious (but not huge) Sunday roast!
I've maintained my goal weight for over two weeks and dropped down to 19% body fat, so very pleased!
So my question is... when I get back into the gym tomorrow, what would be the recommended workouts after indulging in chocolate (for the first time this year I might add!) whether it be HIIT, long cardio, mixture between weight lifting etc?
P.s. Even though I've snacked on chocolate today I'll still fall under my calorie goal, which is extremely low at 1200 a day (calculated by the app). And even more if I get time to hit the gym this evening to use all this sugary energy!
Hope everyone has a good Easter! Peace out Xo

Do whatever exercises you've been doing. And eat the 1200 calories you're given (not all in chocolate, of course).1
-
Wait...I just started..All this chocolate is not gonna eat itself.
With that said, once you wake up tomorrow start where you left off. A break( yeah even the ones you stuff your face with chocolate), is good once in a while.2 -
If I was you, I would look at resetting my calorie goal so that it wasn't a ridiculous 1200 cals, so you can fit a little chocolate in whenever you fancy it.1
-
You won't gain weight on 1200 calories, no matter how much chocolate you eat.
So its really a non issue.
Also, are you eating back exercise calories as per how the app is set up to work? Bcause by the sounds of your post you aren't and are most probably netting some insanely low calories. Not good.2 -
So you included some chocolate in your calorie allowance, but didn't go over...
What's the question?
The answer would be no different than if you'd had some peanut butter on a banana...1 -

My question was about workouts after a consumption of sugary foods aka chocolate Easter eggs0 -

Your diet includes sugar and fat every day I would hope... Or you live on 100% protein?1 -

I simply stated that the app suggested that was my calorie allowance for weight loss. Which had nothing to do with my post... I eat when I'm hungry0 -
My workouts pretty much stay the same, whether or not I've had sugary foods, since what I do in the gym will depend on my goals. I mean sometimes I will hit the weights a little harder if I went way over the day before so I can use that fuel to hit some PRs.
But I pretty much have sugar everyday, especially since candy is my pre and post workout.
So really do whatever you were doing before or whatever you want, not sure if the extra sugar will make a difference the next day especially since you stayed under your cals.
BTW you said you have been maintaining for two weeks... on 1200? That seems low.0 -

It is related to your post as you're trying to 'work off' chocolate that you've eaten when your calorie goal is only 1200.1 -
I don't get what your asking.
You're not over calories so you don't have any thing to work off.
The sugar in chocolate is the same to your body as the sugar in fruit and veg.2 -

Perhaps I didn't explain right, my discussion was about any recommended workouts after going OVER my cal goal purely on sugary chocolate and a way to use the extra energy.0 -

I was referring to falling into a deficit AFTER eating over my goal in sugars and then working it off in excersize. My post was reguarding what would be the recommended method of workout I should do after consumption of excess sugar0 -

Which part of your original post could even remotely suggest you went over your calorie goal?0 -

I think you need to educate yourself on how your body works.
It doesn't care if you are over your sugar goal as long as you brush your teeth.1 -

Punishing yourself by exercising for going over your sugar goal doesn't sound very healthy.1 -

I do the same before workouts reguarding sugar before workouts! Love the energy!
I'm aware that the app has calculated an extremely low calorie consumption but I always eat over the goal and work out and fall into a deficit.
I'm managing to log all my meals and workouts and am seeing the best results I've hoped for not sure why it's calculated it to be so low but I just eat when I'm hungry now

I just said that perhaps didn't explain right (I cant go back and edit my post).0 -

With all respect I am very educated on how my body works. With excess sugar comes extra energy that could be used in a workout; which is what my original post was asking on recommendations about. I'm not talking or asking any other questions in this post about my calorie intake or education on sugar levels. Just workout recommendations using any extra energy.0 -

No punishing here! Just using energy and looking for fun workouts0 -

Yes I have a very balanced diet of sugars fats carbs and protein. Today including more sugar due to chocolate indulgence hehe0 -

It always amazes me when people eat 1200 calories and have lots of energy...0 -
Since everyone seems to be getting confused on this post. I AM eating enough calories. I DO have a balanced diet. I AM educated on how my body works and what it needs.
My question in the post was a recommended way to use any extra sugar levels in a workout, for example: would it be better for bursts of weight training, long distance, perhaps HIIT.
My apologies if my post indicated any other form of interpretation; no negativity or harsh judgements on this discussion please!
Have a lovely Easter and if anyone has any answers to my initial question please comment!0 -
Sunday is my long run day, so I plan to get in a long run (and yes I am eating a bit extra for Easter feasting, more protein than sugar though, since I get to reintroduce meat). Monday is a day I normally swim and don't run, but I have to go out to a (non-Easter-related) celebratory dinner out, so probably I will try to get in a morning bike ride, and if not, oh, well.
I have a pretty set weekly workout schedule. If you don't, just do whatever seems fun, and do a little more if you have extra energy.0 -
If you are looking at it just in terms of carbs.. some people find they carb load the day before and it gives them more power in the gym the next day so the sugar/carbs you had may help with that.
But in terms of sugar itself, I find it gives me energy immediately before a workout, by the next day it is long gone, haha.
So use them however you want to achieve your goals: it can be endurance, power, strength, muscle building, having fun etc.0 -
Just go about your normal plan...it's not a big deal. This is the kind of crap where people start getting all kinds of disordered thinking going on...just do what you would normally do on a Monday.3
-
You just reminded me that the Easter candy will all be on sale today2
