I don't know anything about guar gum, but I use 1/2 teaspoon xanthan gum in my protein shakes and it makes it the consistency of a milkshake. Available in the gluten free aisle, Amazon or iHerb.com.0

Frozen blueberries, oatmeal, cooked rice, cottage cheese any of those will thicken it up0

I like pears, but you can also use cubes of frozen tofu.0

The spinach can give it a funky smell, but the flavor is hardly noticeable unless you use a disproportionate amount of it.0 -
