I have heard that exercise is supposed to lessen period cramps. Is this true? And what is the best exercises for this! What exercise can you do whilst on your period which won't make you feel so yucky??

Yup. It definitely lessens the severity of cramps. As to what exercises, any and all... just don't be wimpy about the intensity you're putting into the exercise. I find that the more effort I put into the exercise, the less severity of the cramps.
  • this was my first month for working out.i had been for about 7-10 days before my period hit and i had cramps off and on for a day or so,waaaaay less than normal and really heavy flow but it only lasted for like 3 days instead of my normal 7.I have been working out to kinect games

I'm going to post in here and there's nothing you can do about it.

Definitely true! This was the first time I've worked out during my TOM, and I didn't cramp at all. Plus it was shorter and lighter than usual.

I just do what I normally do when I have my period. I exercise, go to work, clean up etc. How bad are your cramps?

It really seems to help mine. My motivation is a little less than par during that time of the month, but it really does help me once I actually do it. I can't imagine not doing it now.

Overall working out throughout the month lessens my cramps but while I have them I find that anything I do-walking, elliptical, etc makes them so much worse and I have to quit or I might get sick. I don't know why but I just accept it and take it easy on those days. :)

Not sure how true this is. But I woke up day 1, intense cramps. took an excedrin and went for a run. felt just fine.
