    Basically just means that you got yourself a mentor that's willing to walk you through the steps and provide advice/assistance should you need it.

    Are you talking about the "Adopt a noob" thread? It means someone with experience on this site helps a new person learn how to use the site. The type of help they offer depends on what the new person (noob) needs and the experience or knowledge the veteran user has.
