What's your question? I have experience with B12 supplementation for a deficiency, but nothing to do with appetite suppression.

    What does your doctor say?

Do you plan on continuing them forever? Once the weight is off you have to maintain that, so short term help isn't always the best in the long run.

It's supposed to be an appetite suppressant? News to me! Learn something new every day. smh

I had a friend who did this like 2 or 3 times now. He dropped weight quick, then gained it back - plus some. He did the injections, ate an extremely strict diet of basically boiled chicken and rice/veggie and that's it. It's expensive and short lived as it's next to impossible to eat this way forever, and unhealthy. I'm not sure how much the B12 injections actually did for him, as the rapid weight loss was due to the extremely low calorie diet. This is definitely a fad/crash diet.

He was miserable the entire time he did this.

I figured she was saying her doctor offered her B12 shots and an appetite suppressant, I've heard of that combination before. I've heard of people who claim it suppresses appetite, but that's only after one shot.

I asked my friend what the point of the injections were, and he said it makes weightless go faster, as well as an appetite suppressant. I believe he got this from a dr. or some other "professional"

If you're deficient, b12 shots can help with your energy levels. It does nothing for weight loss.

Appetite suppressant: Make gradual changes in your diet and calorie allowance that allow your appetite to adjust. You will be hungry in between and that's ok.

I was just asking for suggestions and ppls experience with it as a aid to help. ( sorry if I wasn't clear) I know about 5 ppl who have done it with great success and not gain weight back. I am now doing it under a doctor supervision. It will take me a year to get to my goal which I think is healthy. And no your not on the appetite suppressant forever. It helps with cravings and over eating while learning to make better choices. A lifestyle change. Plus working out 3x a week or more. And the B12 shots are for energy only $30 dollars

Im so glad you cannot buy b12 shots in the uk. In other countries tthere have been shortages of b12 for pernicious anemia patients because of the trend for getting b12 shots for weight loss purposes

In the US I cannot get my B12 shots for my pernicious anemia. I used to be able to give myself the shots at home. Now they keep saying they're not in stock, even with my prescription. I have to go to the Dr to get them, which means I don't get them nearly as often as I should.

Is there any reason there is a shortage in production? Pure curiosity.

Well I guess I getting judge for it. O' well we all have to do what works for us.

    No, no judgment.

I was told that the supply dipped because one of the main producers of the shots stopped making them because other medications were more profitable and they wanted to use their production space for those. Perhaps if it is popular for weight loss another company will start? I don't think the raw materials are in short supply or anything.

You're not being judged. As was said, b12 shots aren't for weight loss, and are only actually helpful if you're deficient. Otherwise, it's a waste. You're being lied to in that regard.

As for the appetite suppressant: When you come off of it, you will have your old appetite back, and you'll be at square one with trying to adapt to your new way of eating. Having a solid eating plan can help, but then there's the matter of willpower. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. Just know what to expect. If it works, great! If not, don't be too hard on yourself.

I had pretty much the exact same experience.

I've never heard of this. B vitamins are water soluble vitamins. You would just pee out the excess - your body doesn't store it like fat soluble vitamins.

My husband was deficient in B vitamins due to a GI issue. The injections had no effect on his weight.
