Any suggestions for a good skin cream?

Hello all. I have a lot of weight to lose, and I want to start a good skincare regimen now in the hopes of avoiding loose skin around my abdomen. Any suggestions? I'm not looking for a miracle or anything, just something that will promote health and elasticity in the skin. Thanks!

I use coconut oil on my body daily it helps me shave and smells good and moisturizes. Not really anything else i can say but i love my coconut oil XD Can even mix in some sugar or something and make a body scrub to use once a week to promote good blood flow and get rid of excess dead skin. Its a bit to much on my face though and weird as it sounds i use potatoes on my face. Seriously. Alot of good vitamins in potatoes that come out in the juice and its good on my sensitive skin. Only worked bad when i didnt realize i was doing it when someone was over and they laughed their *kitten* off at me rubbing half a potato on my face LOL0

I take a daily supplement containing collagen, biotin, hyaluronuc acid, and lutein. A decent inexpensive lotion with collagen, elastin and vitamin e is good--St. Ives or the like will work well with a little daily massage. Drink kots and lots of water. I've heard dry brushing before showers is helpful, but I haven't tried it.
Face creams are different, and I can go into those if you'd like. I love face creams.1 -
@tabletop_joe, provided a good list.
I also like dry brushing, even just for the exfoliating.
If you can afford it use face and/or eye creams for your body. It gets expensive real fast so focus on expected problem areas. I only do it about once a week.0 -
You can make your skin nicely moisturized, healthier, and what not, but there's no cream or pill that will stop skin from sagging when you lose weight.
The best ways to minimize that (and I have learned them here from vets!) is to lose slowly so your skin has the most time to adjust, and this next part cant be controlled- be young enough that your skin is still very resilient, then wait patiently a couple years for it to "snap back" (obviously its not really "snapping" since it takes a couple years but it does adjust some) and work on tightening/building muscles especially where the skin sags, and that will help.
If you have a very large amount of weight to lose, and are older, likely you will always have some saggy skin unless you have surgery. Better saggy skin than leaving it how it was!1 -
Thank you for the insight! I really appreciate it. I know that muscle toning and losing slow are the best ways, but I figure treating my skin to a good moisturizer can't hurt!0
