How do I cook whiting on the stove using less no more than a tsp of oil and avoid having mushy fish?

I don't have a steamer. Trying to find steaming techniques. I'm unemployed right now, trying not to spend too much.

Do you have a cast iron skillet? They are nonstick and you can cook fish with no added oil.0

You should be able to just pan sear it on both sides. No mushiness.1

Thx, everyone. Last time I cooked the fish on a nonstick, it was mushy. Maybe its something I'm doing wrong.0
