It's been about 2 weeks and the first week I actually gained 2lbs, then I lost about 4lbs, then I gained back to my start weight! I don't understand it I only have gone over the grams of fat and sugar a couple of times and am usually, not always, about 300 under the max amount of calories. I have 2 rods in my back, artificial hips and bad joints so I have trouble doing the exercises I used to do. Right now I walk 2 miles about every other day. I'm know it's early but I'm getting frustrated. Any advice???

This is just how it goes, stick to your plan and track the overall thrend over several weeks. Hopefully you will be averaging what your plan says you should be, if not then you can think about changing it up some. Just know that your weight will always fluctuate by a couple lbs, my standard is about 2 but I have heard others say they fluctuate by more than that in their normal range. There are many reasons your body will temprarily retain or lose water.

You will always have fluctuations. Get used to that. That said, just be really honest with your logging. It's not the fat or the sugar....it's the calories.

Make sure you weigh yourself first thing in the morning. That is the only true reading day to day. You weight goes up and down throughout the day.

Your weight fluctuates for many different reasons like fluid intake, digestion, muscle repair, and hormones just to name a few. It's about the trend.

I've been on the planet for 54 years and I'm pretty sure my weight has fluctuated the entire time. It certainly has whenever I've been actively tracking it - 100% of the time.

This was the best advice, I would only add try to make it the same time too, because steady sleeping patterns also can affect weight loss.

lol i mean around the same time, that would be massively hard to keep up with the exact time everyday

FYI you were fluctuating even when you weren't trying to lose weight...

The longer you do it, the longer you'll see a trend. As others have said. I only record weight when it's at a loss, but after however long I've been doing this - I figured out how my body works. Or so I think.

Keep at it, 2 weeks is not enough time to make any judgements on progress yet. Give it at least a month or 6 weeks and go from there.

As others have said, weight fluctuates. A high sodium meal, new exercise, ovulation and menstruation can all cause fluctuations. I weigh daily. It helps me to be more aware of the fluctuations and I can usually figure out what caused it. Some people get freaked out about the normal fluctuations. If it bothers you then you might want to just weigh weekly or even monthly.
