I finally followed some of the advice on here. Yeah! Progress!

I had hit a plateau and was stuck for about three weeks. I was being very careful to stay on plan and log everything. I was actually staying under my target calories of 1230, often only eating about 1050or 1100. I was measuring everything by cups or guessing. So some very helpful members told me to get a scale and weigh a lot of the items I was measuring by cup. I was also told to eat more, my calories were too low! The other advice was to ignore the scale when I get stuck and instead measure myself because I might see progress there when the scale wasn't cooperating. Apparently weight can fluctuate for a variety of reasons unrelated to fat loss. I had read these suggestions before and didn't do them because some of them didn't make sense and I'm kinda stubborn. LOL. Well I finally got mad enough when the scale went up two pounds. I knew that logically I could not have gained weight since I wasn't "cheating" at all so I bought a scale and Bingo! Several things were weighing differently with a different calorie count. I paid more attention to eating up to my goal, notably more protein and fat. Finally I measured my self and during this plateau I somehow lost 1 inch in my bust, 1 1/4 in my waist, and 3/4 inch in my hips. Now my loss has started again. Two pounds this week! Thank you everyone for your help and encouragement. This is a learn as you go lifetime change. Next change is drink more water!

It was really hard for me to accept that I had to eat more to lose weight, particularly more fat. I get you OP!2

Yeah. That was a hard one. That didn't make sense. I figured if 1230 was good then 1100 was better. Nope. When I ate closer to the 1230, by eating more protein and healthy fat, the weight loss started again. Learning as I go.0 -
I am so glad that these tips worked for you!1
