I've been a bit lacking in protein and high in fat the last couple of weeks (about 40-45% fat, less than 20% protein), so I'm just looking for some meat free ways to up my protein intake! What are your favorites and how do you prep them?

Seitan is high protein and usually low fat (if you purchase it, some brands have more fat than others but making your own allows you to control the fat content). You can use it any way you would use meat -- I have it in stews, sandwiches, and stir-fries.

Beans are another food that is higher in protein and low in fat. Black beans, lentils, garbanzo beans, pinto beans . . . . there are so many choices when it comes to beans that you never have to get bored.

Tofu isn't very high in fat and it has a lot of protein. I love to marinade it and then bake it.

    Skim greek yogurt or skyr
    Skim milk

Or whatever no-fat dairy floats your boat.

Egg whites (if you're like me and can't stand just whites, using at least one yolk makes all the difference and won't add too much fat)

Seafood (unless you consider that meat)

Protein powder if you're really struggling

Fat free Greek yogurt. I like light and fit, about 12g of protein a cup. Oikos triple zero has 15g. String cheese is another good source of protein, about 6 grams a stick. Then there's always protein bars and shakes. Mostly dairy products, I guess
