Was able to comfortably wear a favourite pair of grey jeans this morning. Last wore them over 2 years ago and even then they were snug and created a muffin top. This morning, no muffin top (well, a slight one but that has nothing to do with the jeans ) and the jeans feel good!
This was so motivating as the scale really hasn't moved much in the past 4 weeks or so.22 -
My husband and I played frisbee yesterday, and he commented on how skinny my limbs were. He jokingly called me "gangly" haha. That was nice because he usually doesn't mention my body out of the blue.
btw frisbee is a lot easier when you're not 320 pounds40 -
After little fiasco with bank....
>>post to Chit chat prior to lunch
Their website says they do one thing - you spend 20mins on the phone to get through to someone real to sort it and then lo and behold - 'nah we don't do that, ring your other bank it has to be done from their end'
cue email with screen shots of their own bl**dy website!
rage - now I want chips! not my healthy spinach and egg salady stuff! more rage lol
>>>
have had lunch and did not get chips. I had lettuce, spinach, carrot, 3 hard boiled eggs and grated cheese all chopped and mixed and it was really filling and took me the full 30mins to eat!
feel calmer now too lol33 -
3 months ago my goal was to be able to walk 3 miles. 2 months ago my goal was to be able to run (at all). 1 month ago my goal was to run 3 miles (5k). Now my goal is to be run 3 miles each morning before work/breakfast at least 4 times a week. Even if I have to walk a couple minutes here and there I'm fine with that - I have to hit that 3 miles in my 35-40 minute gym session though (with a cool down after). AND to sign up for at least one 5K monthly all summer!

1. At Pilates class on Wednesday I had an instructor that I hadn't seen in 3 weeks, and she commented that she was impressed with my increased ab strength! Another instructor said in passing that I'm looking good!
2. Completed a spinning class this morning! Haven't done that in probably a decade.
3. Noticed new little muscles in my legs during class that I can thank Pilates for.
4. Wasn't put off by my reflection in the mirror while spinning! Big mental win.
I'm sure I will have a sore bottom to remind me off all these NSVs tomorrow!26 -

Your goals are almost exactly what mine have been!! I was in the same place 3 months ago, where even walking that far was questionable. Now, I run (mostly - still have the odd minute or two of walking) 3 miles three times a week after work, and do "Five Mile Fridays". I have to walk a lot more on Fridays . I love watching my times go down week to week!
I love your one-5k-a-month Summer goal. I may add that in to mine, as well! You go girl, awesome job!!17 -
I've lost 90lbs in the last year. I am 10lbs away from my goal weight of 150. I'm in a size 14 now, I figured that's as small as my jeans are gonna get. However my 14s are feeling pretty loose at this point! I think a size 12 might be in my near future with 10 more lbs to go!!39

I bought a pair of jeans today. Size 34 waist. The last time I was a size 34 waist was in my mid 20's. And to top it off...they were a little loose on me. 32 here I come!!!!

Interesting to compare progress shots from 12 weeks ago to today, and I'm very pleased, especially since I had to take a 4 week break from lifting just after that first photo. Very pleased to see I have regained any lost ground, and then some!

This morning I had a guy try and grab well I am not sure if was trying to grab me or my purse. I ran and he chased me. I had to run a few blocks before he gave up. I have been doing c25k and losing weight this really helped my ability to run and scream to get me out of the dangerous scary situation.48

Oh wow - I'm sorry you had to experience that, but it's great that you had the ability to get away safely!10 -
1) I have worn out my cycling gloves. They have holes in them. Anyone would think that they are well-used . . .
2) The bike and I have travelled over 3,000 miles together since I purchased it in September. I wanted to get a photo of "3000.0" but it was a bit difficult as I was hurtling down a hill doing 37+mph at the time so had to stop at the bottom of the hill to take the photo. I (and the gloves) have actually done 3,891 miles since September as I use a couple of other bikes as well, and there have been occasions when I've forgotten to put the computer back on the bike.
3) C25K W2 D1 tomorrow and I am very excited about it; I can't wait to see if I can actually plod along for 90 seconds. If I manage it, I am going to get myself (and my son) some proper running shoes. At the moment I am plodding along in a pair of trainers.24 -

I grew up in Surrey, and remember having snow in April (over Easter, as it happened) one year! You're too young to know, but I think it was the year we had a heat wave the same summer. (Sometime in the 1970s. )
It doesn't happen often, but I can verify that you're not going crazy and it is possible! Maybe it's a sign you're in for a summer of headlines that read, "Phew, What A Scorcher!" again...9 -
today I ran an 800 meter warm up for cross fit class and made it without stopping, also last half was uphill. May not be long distance but was a big accomplishment and I was very proud of myself and very thankful for encouraging coach who ran with me. This is the thing I love best about Cross fit, it is a community and everyone encourages each other21

I jogged (5.3 mph pace) the first 3+ of my run without stopping to walk at all! I ended up finishing the entire 5 miles in 58:40, which is SEVEN minutes faster than I was the first time I tried this distance, a month ago. More importantly, my knee isn't killing me quite as much as it normally does. I'm only 14 pounds into a 50-ish pound goal, and I love how much less pressure is on my knee every week.23

Oh, I am not too young to remember that summer (1976) I was living in Dorset at the time and it was a terrible drought. I don't remember any snow that particular Easter but I do remember 1978 when it snowed heavily and the snow stayed around for weeks. We lived in a remote farmhouse and my Dad had to drive into the nearest town, five miles away, to get food. My brother used to go as well, in a open transport box attached to the back of the tractor. The snow was so deep that you couldn't see where the hedges were. Us kids thought it was wonderful (snow and no school) but it was a nightmare for our parents.8 -
I went to my class yesterday - our own trainer is on a holiday so we had the owner instead and her classes are generally the hardest the gym has to offer. No change there, yesterday was brutal, but I made it through, and that is the real NSV, I totally enjoyed it though I was dripping with sweat onto my towel in the abs and glute routines she put us through. I really loved it.24

not my victory, but i'm really stoked by association. mr squats in my barbell club . . . he did 33% of a strict pullup today.
you'd have to have known the guy for almost two years like i have, i guess. he's crazy strong, but he struggles with pullups like i struggle with squats. he's just been too heavy to do them till now.
he's doing a year-long keto 'experiment' and is determined not to weigh himself except (maybe?) at the halfway point. so this is one of the most concrete payoffs he's ever received and he was just crazy over the moon and excited by it.
i've watched him working so hard for so long to keep trying and not to give up. so it felt so good to be there for his moment i wanted to post it, i guess.42 -
Very proud of my family today, we all did our first Parkrun 5k, including my 9 and 5 year old. We walked some of it, especially towards the end, little legs do twice as many steps, but we did it and we all felt OK!25

Sort of scale-related, but still...
Having heaved a bag of shopping up to my first floor flat, I thought I would see what one of the bags weighed. Exactly what I have lost since mid-Feb! 19lbs (there was a box of wine in the bag, not all food ). Horrifying to realise I have about 8 of those bags of shopping still to go, but at least I am on the right track.31
