1. It was lightly raining when I went to pick up the kids from school. I am usually there 15 minutes early, and walk around the school. I really, really wanted to stay in the car. Instead, I made myself get out and walk. I did 2 laps around the school, and then was pacing in front of my daughters classroom. A lady came up to me and told me she sees me walking all the time, and I was an inspiration!
2. I also walk/run during my lunch break. I always invite the other girls in the office to join me. They always laugh and eat at their desk. Yesterday, one of the girls joined me for the last 10 minutes of my jog. (I do it in our warehouse, so I just go in circles.)
I am inspiring other people to do something healthy for themselves. Never ever ever thought that would happen.
And you are inspiring MFP people too
I logged all my food yesterday at a lunch baby shower at work- it is hard for me to log things like that and I usually don't log them and it kind of sets me back mentally (I pack my lunch 95% of the time so it is normally not a problem). Yes, it was a lot of calories, but I didn't completely blow it for the day. Logged it, accepted it, and am moving on22 -
I can touch my toes. And talk at the same time.
Also, I had a bath yesterday, something I rarely do because I just prefer showering. And I realized how much room there was in the bath. My thighs used to touch the sides and now there's significant space between me and the bath. The downside is that now I have to use more water lol20 -

I still have Easter candy because I've only been eating it when I can fit it into my day! (:28

Me too! In fact, we still have some Halloween candy! Impossible this time of year in our house. Even hubby is limiting his intake.11 -
Ran 11 miles, now planning a half marathon run. Every time I run more than 3 miles and do not feel different walking the next day.26

Omg! I'm so happy. I haven't lost any pounds in the past 2 weeks. I've just been fluctuating between 1-1.5lb Thanks to the wonderful PMS and getting ready for TOM. I have horrible PMS symptoms and I swear it's getting worse as I'm losing weight. I have been eating 200-300 calories above my MFP recommendation. I had to increase my steps from 15,000 to 20,000 this week, just so I maintain my 500 calorie deficit goal.
Good news! So I just wore my long white coat right now. Thanks to my large hips/pear shape, I have this one button around my hip area that is a struggle to fasten since last year. But guess what, I FINALLY just fastened that button right now with no resistance! It's not much but it's the tiny little achievements that keeps me going and the ultimate proof my hard work is paying off.42 -
So looking at my 'life' spreadsheet this afternoon. As work is as thrilling as always.
And apparently I have swum just over 75 miles this year. That's about 3 Channel swims (something I would love to do, but eek jellyfish!)
so that's quite cool!31 -
The scale hasn't been too kind to me lately but the measuring tape has. I needed to order a back-up tri kit for my upcoming triathlon and my usual brand/size was sold out. I busted out the measuring tape and was shocked at my new measurements. I didn't want to trust them but I ordered a Large based on the measurements and it fits perfectly. If you would have told me years ago that I'd ever fit in any non-plus size athletic gear, let alone a women's triathlon suit, I would have fallen over laughing. 3 years ago I was at the deepest end of the plus-sized stores (we're talking 28W, 30/32W, and catalog-only sizes), today I'm wearing a large tri suit! Sure, it's a large, not a medium or small but it's a large TRIATHLETE's suit.53

Bought two pairs of pants... both... 2 inches less than "normal" around the waist and they fit!!!... I knew they would... BUT what I wasn't expecting was the ease with which I done them up... I am down from a very tight fitting 38 (one sales dude about 5 years ago.. said "you should be in a 40 inch" so now I am in a decent fitting 36... as far as NSV goes.. I think this is probably the best illustration of how little the scale should matter.. because I have actually gained 4 lbs in the last 3 months... strength training (strong lifts 5x5) 3x week... plus steady state cardio 2x/week... and HIIT on a set of stairs that is equivalent to an 11 story building 3x/week...21

Just returned from the clothing store. My husband cautiously stuck his head out of his office to ask how it went. "Are you in a better or worse mood than when you left?" I laughed. Totally valid question. I hate shopping for clothes, and I didn't enjoy this any more than usual.
But.
I started out trying on the XXLs as usual and got down to the Ls before they fit me consistently. I was even in an M in a few things, including the stretchy, long skirt I got.
I disliked almost everything (except the skirt, and including the clothes I had worn there), but I realized that it wasn't that my body is horrible. It's that the clothes themselves weren't right for me. They just weren't my style.
This is a break-through.48 -
For the last week, I've been wearing pants that I couldn't even comfortably fit into for the last year, AND they're not strangling me when I sit down. I'd completely forgotten what wearing comfortable clothes to work felt like O.O20

All of this. I've had to change how I dress completely in the last year. When I realised this I took a gf from work with me and got her to just hand me clothes through changeroom doors without my opinion. There were some horrible choices, but also some awesome ones I never would have made without her that are major pieces in my wardrobe now.20 -

I had to buy new pants the other day since the ones I had bought 2 months ago slipped off as I got out of a car.14

I went to the gym twice in a row! That never happens This morning I also discovered my belt needs to be tightened one more hole. Only 2 more holes before I need another one!16

I don't have any girlfriends nearby, so I'm seriously considering using a personal shopper once I've lost all the weight. I've always been sort of a mess fashion-wise, and I'd like to resolve that issue.
For our anniversary dinner out tonight, I ended up pairing the long black skirt with a nice grey t-shirt, a grey cropped cardigan, black flats, and some silver jewelry I already owned. Casual, but put together. I hope. :-/19 -
Had a physical yesterday. It has been a year since he has seen me. He came in with my file, then suddenly stepped out saying he would be right back. When he came back in he said he thought he had the wrong room and patient!!! So awesome. I loved it.48

My teachers from a year ago don't recognize me until I speak, and even back then I had lost about 20 or 30 pounds.19

Was able to comfortably wear a favourite pair of grey jeans this morning. Last wore them over 2 years ago and even then they were snug and created a muffin top. This morning, no muffin top (well, a slight one but that has nothing to do with the jeans ) and the jeans feel good!
This was so motivating as the scale really hasn't moved much in the past 4 weeks or so.22 -
My husband and I played frisbee yesterday, and he commented on how skinny my limbs were. He jokingly called me "gangly" haha. That was nice because he usually doesn't mention my body out of the blue.
btw frisbee is a lot easier when you're not 320 pounds40 -
After little fiasco with bank....
>>post to Chit chat prior to lunch
Their website says they do one thing - you spend 20mins on the phone to get through to someone real to sort it and then lo and behold - 'nah we don't do that, ring your other bank it has to be done from their end'
cue email with screen shots of their own bl**dy website!
rage - now I want chips! not my healthy spinach and egg salady stuff! more rage lol
>>>
have had lunch and did not get chips. I had lettuce, spinach, carrot, 3 hard boiled eggs and grated cheese all chopped and mixed and it was really filling and took me the full 30mins to eat!
feel calmer now too lol33 -
3 months ago my goal was to be able to walk 3 miles. 2 months ago my goal was to be able to run (at all). 1 month ago my goal was to run 3 miles (5k). Now my goal is to be run 3 miles each morning before work/breakfast at least 4 times a week. Even if I have to walk a couple minutes here and there I'm fine with that - I have to hit that 3 miles in my 35-40 minute gym session though (with a cool down after). AND to sign up for at least one 5K monthly all summer!

1. At Pilates class on Wednesday I had an instructor that I hadn't seen in 3 weeks, and she commented that she was impressed with my increased ab strength! Another instructor said in passing that I'm looking good!
2. Completed a spinning class this morning! Haven't done that in probably a decade.
3. Noticed new little muscles in my legs during class that I can thank Pilates for.
4. Wasn't put off by my reflection in the mirror while spinning! Big mental win.
I'm sure I will have a sore bottom to remind me off all these NSVs tomorrow!26 -

Your goals are almost exactly what mine have been!! I was in the same place 3 months ago, where even walking that far was questionable. Now, I run (mostly - still have the odd minute or two of walking) 3 miles three times a week after work, and do "Five Mile Fridays". I have to walk a lot more on Fridays . I love watching my times go down week to week!
I love your one-5k-a-month Summer goal. I may add that in to mine, as well! You go girl, awesome job!!17 -
I've lost 90lbs in the last year. I am 10lbs away from my goal weight of 150. I'm in a size 14 now, I figured that's as small as my jeans are gonna get. However my 14s are feeling pretty loose at this point! I think a size 12 might be in my near future with 10 more lbs to go!!39
-
I bought a pair of jeans today. Size 34 waist. The last time I was a size 34 waist was in my mid 20's. And to top it off...they were a little loose on me. 32 here I come!!!!

Interesting to compare progress shots from 12 weeks ago to today, and I'm very pleased, especially since I had to take a 4 week break from lifting just after that first photo. Very pleased to see I have regained any lost ground, and then some!

This morning I had a guy try and grab well I am not sure if was trying to grab me or my purse. I ran and he chased me. I had to run a few blocks before he gave up. I have been doing c25k and losing weight this really helped my ability to run and scream to get me out of the dangerous scary situation.48
