Get it removed, and then you can eat whatever you want!

I had mine removed but still have some problems with animal fat. Vegetable fat (like nuts and avocado) are much easier to digest.

I have found that cooking one dish meals in my crock pot has really helped me keep lower fat. i use leaner cuts of meat and do not need any added fat.

No problems since surgery, but before that, dairy killed me. Nuts were not a problem at all.

I am having mine removed shortly. But here in Canada we have long waits for our health care. So in the mean time I cant eat anything high in fat.

I had mine removed and now have problems digesting fats and proteins. However, A. If you're considering surgery and a dr. Wants to give it to you, it's likely not an option to skip it and B. It made me be more careful about food that wasn't great for me, so it actually ended up supporting healthier behavior. Just don't assume that removal will be without consequences. A sizeable minority will develop these issues.

Awaiting surgery here in UK too, like you we have long waits for non emergency surgery. However I've lost 33lbs eating low fat with a calorie deficit since Jan 17 and so will be considerably at lower risk when I finally have surgery :) . From what I've been able to find out everyone is different in terms of triggers for attacks, I've heard tomatoes and tea are off limits for some. For me its fat and portion size. I don't eat more than 15-17 g fat a day spread over meals, I eat several snacks during the day to try to keep calories up and at the moment I'm not concerned with carb or sugar intake, I'll sort that out after surgery. Following advice from here I take fat soluble vitamins with meals that contain fat.
I eat a lot of fish, white or tinned tuna, chicken breast and ham/turkey deli meat and fat free yoghurts.
Also eat cottage cheese, wholewheat pasta and brown rice, beans and lentils but I know not everyone can tolerate them. And obviously lots of veg, I make soups and pasta sauces to add variety too.
Good luck and lots of empathy!

All the breads, grains, fruits, vegetables, chicken breast, fish.

You can reduce or remove the fat from many recipes.

I currently cant eat any meat, makes me go into an attack. So im strictly eating fruits and veggies. Im worried because im dropping 1-2lbs a day and my iron is very low. Im super nauseous all the time so it makes it hard for me to eat a lot. Im currently trying to drink a lot of water and eati 2 small meals a day with a few small snacks in between. Its literally all I can stomache at this point.
