What are your favorite breakfast meals?
Hello everyone! I am relatively new to this who diet/ healthy living routine. I am curious about what kind of breakfast you all start off with in the morning. My calorie goal is 1880. I usually have 2 large scrambled eggs, tsp of land o lakes butter, 1 slice of beefsteak rye (lightly buttered) and 1 cup of orange juice. I switched this morning to 2 cups of rice chex but the sodium is way too high! Higher than my egg/ toast breakfast! Looking for some new and healthy ideas!

2 eggs cooked in spray oil
4 or 5 oz homemade sausage (turkey or pork) I did this to remove the vast amount of sodium in sausage
8oz Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
62g of protein powder
it seems you have a very high carb breakfast between the bread, cereal and orange juice i would say beware the orange juice expecially, even though its from oranges its high in sugar and carbs.
My advice, is weigh everything you eat, buy a small digital scale and you will be surprised at what you thought a serving was to actually what one is. Also reduce your carbs and up your protein, avoid as much processed food as possible1 -

Thank you for all of your input. It's obvious that I am clueless to what I am doing! I have lost 9 lbs so far, but I bet I could be doing better with more research! I have cut out all soda and I am doing great with portion control. I'm just not eating the right way yet.3

I was curious about that too!0 -
So this will sound a bit odd but hear me out...
I like to make scrambled egg whites and mix in a table spoon of nut butter, and sprinkle cinnamon on top. It tastes EXACTLY like French Toast... only without the toast LOL!6 -
This morning I made poached eggs and served them over Scottish oats with parmesan cheese sprinkled over. So good.0

Homemade sausage
2lbs ground meat (pork, turkey or beef)
2 teaspoons dried sage
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/2 cup of cold water
Basically mix all the ingredients together, then weigh out 2 or 4oz of meat and form in to patties. (I use a cheap hamburger press)I then cook them all on a medium grill for 5 minutes a side then store in a air tight container and i have sausage for all week

half a cup of light vanilla greek yogurt (112g), with a serving of PB2 mixed in, topped with half a serving of Kashi cereal. It is 205 calories, but you could easily double the amounts for a more substantial breakfast (I am only eating 1200-1300 calories a day and I prefer to eat more at dinner)0

My breakfasts are usually
Sprouted wheat toast, half avocado mash an egg and lemon zest
Chia bowl with yogurt, almond milk, chia and fruit and cinnamon
A green smoothie with protein powder and i add ground flax seeds
Or steel cut oats, with almond milk, fruit and cinnamon.
I'm pretty boring and it often is one of these ideas but I truly crave a bagel with peanut butter and a banana!

We make homemade protein bars for breakfast, mostly because we're normally in a rush to get out of the house in the morning!
This week the protein bars have been made of peanut butter, rolled oats, honey, banana chips and dried cranberries! It tastes like a delicious PB&J! You can also add other things like flax seed (You don't even really taste them) protein powder, vanilla extract or anything else to spruce them up!1 -
When I wake up in the morning, I make my cappuccino using my coffee machine and have a piece of fruit. Then I use my bike for an hour, after which I will have scoop of protein powder with a cup of skim milk. If I don't have a protein shake, then I have a protein bar which is usually a quest bar (I try and have 20grams of protein after my bike).
On the weekends I love fresh bread and butter from the bakery! Yummy.0 -

I was never a breakfast person so it's something I continue to work but here are my go-to's:
- whole grain english muffin with deli turkey and cheese, a tsp of butter so it's not so dry, side of fruit
- oatmeal with fruit and an egg mixed in (cook the egg into it), sometimes with nuts
- plain greek yogurt with fruit and nuts, a tsp of honey
- 2 scrambled eggs, black beans, sauteed spinach with a side of fruit
- 2 hard boiled egg whites, 2 oz of deli meat, cheese, fruit (this is my favorite because I can pick at it)0 -
Potato and eggs
Saute veggies and eggs
oatmeal with berries and nuts
yogurt with berries
leftover whatever (especially meatloaf, soup, pasta, pizza)
Porridge other than oatmeal with raisins (farina, corn meal mush)
Grilled cheese and tomato open faced sandwich
Peanut butter and sliced apple wrapped in whole wheat burrito wrapper
soft boiled eggs and toast of some sort
Crumb cake or crumb fruit tortes and tea
pancake and eggs
buckwheat pancake and berry sauce
.... well, I guess if it's edible and I'm hungry, it's game to be breakfast) This morning it was yogurt and berries.1 -
My go to breakfast is a scramble with lean meats and egg whites and some combination of mushrooms, potatoes, spinach, and salsa. It makes a big portion for the calories and a ton of protein. It also happens to be something I enjoy. I also eat oatmeal with pb2, sugar free syrup, and protein powder or grits with either shrimp or turkey sausage and cheese. Another really easy and quick one is simply low fat cottage cheese and chicken sausage.0

Coffee with milk, light and fit 80 cal Greek yogurt and 2 hard boiled eggs is pretty ideal for me. Sometimes it's just coffee or a BLT on wheat. The eggs and yogurt actually keep me full and moving till I eat again.0

Organic corn tortilla warmed up in a pan with a one egg omelet on top; top it with a little bit of cheese, some salsa and avocado. Roll it up and enjoy.1
