I've been told the settings for protein on myfitnesspal are a little low. Now that I'm in maintenance mode and still doing weight training I'd like to know how much protein vs carbs should I be getting in order to build muscle/lean muscle mass?

Please help!!!!

You may try setting your diary to 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat.

Understand that to build lean muscle you HAVE to be in caloric surplus. Adding muscle means adding weight. 1 gram per lb of body weight is the usual consensus. But understand that usually to gain a pound of muscle, it's not unlikely that you'll add .3 pound of fat along with it. It's part of what you need to do to gain. Then usually you'll "cut" to reduce the fat and retain the lean muscle you've gained.

Bump - I'd also like to know how MFP comes up with the ideal count for protein and carbs- I tend to eat more protein and less carbs.

I found this odd when I signed up too. You can customize it to your preference at GOALS > CHANGE GOALS > CUSTOM.

Lots of people like the 40 - 30 - 30 (PCF) breakdown. I'm more sensitive to carbs so I eat fewer (20%) and upped the fat to 40%.
