Have Any Of Yous Lost Weight Without Removing Carbs From Your Diet?

Just wondering if any of yous have lost a huge amount of weight without restricting/removing carbs from your diet? xx

    Aww thank you for replying guys!

    I actually love having carbs in the morning as it keeps me full! I dont think I could ever remove carbs from my diet

    Love my carbs! I'm down 60 pounds and have maintained for a couple years now.

    Lost 67 pounds and about 15% body fat, my carbs are anywhere from 25-50% of my intake per day (almost always over 150g/day at minimum). I eat rice several times a week, bread every day, ice cream almost every night and still occasionally indulge in pizza, Mexican food, pie/cake, chocolate, etc.

    Carbs (or lack thereof) don't drive weight loss - calories do. You can lose weight on any diet that results in a consistent calorie deficit (eating less calories than you expend).

    I lost my baby weight by eating lots of carbs. I didn't have a whole lot to lose, but the point is I got to goal by not cutting out or severely restricting certain macros.

    absolutely. Im down 60 from my max, carbs and all. My favorite snack is toast and jelly. I cant remove that from my diet.

    Absolutely, at the end of the day, losing weight means you're expending more calories than you're taking in. However, it is important to keep your macro nutrient ratios in mind. My advice is to be sure you're getting in enough protein first, then allow yourself to have carbs!

    It seems like I always go over my carbs, but still under calorie limit, and I'm down about 13 pounds so far.

    Well, you have to restrict something to get into a deficit. Carbs are the first thing I lower. I don't go super low or "cut them out" though.

    Lost around 40 kgs with carbs being around 45% of my diet. No reason to drastically reduce carbs unless there is a medical reason to do so, or you find protein/fat to be more filling which keeps your calorie intake under control. LCHF has been shown to have the same weight loss over time as a diet lower in fats and higher in carbs by a number of studies. It is a tool for losing weight but not a magic solution or better overall than other tools.

    Heck yeah! And without eating anything that isn't actually food--like artificial sweeteners or protein powders or other such nonsense.

    Yep. Over 100lbs. With a few 95-100% carb days (BRAT for IBS).

    Low carb is absolutely not necessary for weight loss. It actually caused my digestive/intestinal distress.

    Not so much unfortunately… When I'm cutting carbs ( but it's almost impossible) I loose much more of my kg… I'm admiring pals, who can "lost all my weight on a high carb diet." :)

    Still in a calorie deficit for the day and it's your calorie balance that means you lose, gain or maintain your weight.

    Yes. Carbs are not evil, you need them for a balanced diet. CICO is what matters, throw in some exercise to get your muscles working (and give you some extra calories to eat) and you're good.

    If you have a problem, check your quantities - are you weighing pasta, for example? No point eyeballing or putting it in a cup and thinking you have a "portion".

    Then don't. If it works for your satiety and diet adherence, then don't change it.

    Personally, there's 2 reasons I can't do LC(HF)
    1. No gallbladder, so cutting out carbs means I'd need to up fat (there's only so much protein I can swallow in a day) and that is not a pleasant proposition for my digestion...
    2. I turn into a monster if I'm too low on my carbs. 'Crabby' doesn't even begin to describe it. I'm not sure the world needs another serial killer :tongue:

    Of course you can! I thought so once, too. Carbs don't make anyone hold on to fat unless one eats at or over maintenance. It's all calories. Initial weight drop with low carb is mostly water, anyway.

    It was actually quite simple.

    I entered my information into MFP.
    I chose sedentary as my activity level.
    I opted to lose 0.5 kg/week.
    MFP gave me a number of calories to consume.
    I consumed that number of calories.

    I also exercised and ate about half my exercise calories back.
