Can someone please confirm calorie count for an entered recipe
The recipe I entered was for a bread machine white bread. I scanned Bar codes for most of the ingredients.
2/3 cup water
2 cups white flour
1 tbsp imperial margerine
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp fleishamans instant yeast
Serving size as 1 loaf
It came up with a calorie count of 197 calories per serving which is the whole loaf. Can this be right?

No one food is "bad." Yes, whole wheat flour has more fiber and a bit more protein (it's also processed). Perhaps OP is already meeting fiber & protein goals with other foods. Losing weight is about CALORIES. I don't know you, but my goal isn't a perfect diet....it's a better diet. Lifestyle changes - I do plan on eating a piece of cake (white flour & white sugar) at some point in my life.
OP - it's the flour calories.2 -

How big is "1 Loaf"? It would be helpful to weigh the loaf and divide by the number of servings/slices you want to get out of it and then calculate how many calories per slice.0

She is eating white flour because she wants! The post is about the calories and not the choice of ingredients. I don't eat white flour, but it does not mean that someone should not eat.

I just did a test recipe but I can't get the image to upload. Here's what I get:
Water = 0
Flour = 880 (I chose Pillsbury unbleached at random)
Margarine = 90
Sugar = 30
Salt = 0
Yeast = 0
Total calories for the whole loaf = 1000
Odds are you entered 1 serving of flour, not 1 cup. A quick image search shows that the serving size of many types of flour is 1/4 cup, so you would need to enter 8 servings to get 2 cups.
Hope that helps.
