Have Any Of Yous Lost Weight Without Removing Carbs From Your Diet?

Nope. I am one of those people that didn't really lose that much just by restricting calories (and eating pretty much the same way) and I was miserable. I am happier eating fat rather than carbs and my pain level is way down.4

carbs make up close to 50% of my daily calories (I take in 300+ most days a week) and I'm down 10lbs - focusing more on recomp than weight loss1
-
50lbs lost here, never tracked or paid any attention to my carb intake. The only thing that matters for weight loss is that you're hitting the appropriate calorie deficit for your weight loss goals. Calories, calories and yes-calories1

I lost weight and reached my goal without ever restricting carbs, and my dietary intake is by no means low carb.

118 pounds, maintaining for 3 years. I pay absolutely zero attention to my carb intake.3

25lbs down and I still eat all the carbs. You will take the pizza out of my cold, dead hands.2

In theory you don't need to remove anything from your diet to lose weight.
In real life is easier to lose weight if you cut down or eliminate what your "problem food" is. For me are carbs. When cutting I try to cut down carbs so I can use the calories in something better for my body like protein. In theory you don't need to eliminate anything, again, but I would rather eat 400 calories in protein than 6oz of white rice( I made this numbers up ).2 -
Like many others OP, I lost my weight, >30 lbs, and am now maintaining with no particular attention paid to carbs. I aim for 100 g of protein per day and that's all I look at, from a macro perspective. Weight loss/maintenance/weight gain all comes down to calories.
Curious what prompted you to post this initially and why you believed you needed to cut carbs in order to lose weight?3 -

I do the same, and I notice that if I just focus on getting in the protein in while staying within my calorie goal, that that will, by necessity, tend to cut out a refined carb somewhere in my day. IMO, it tends to be a good tradeoff in terms of satiety so I do eat way fewer refined carbs than I used to, but not because I can't to lose weight. It just makes it easier.0 -
DW and I lost over 110 pounds and ate all the carbs we cared to. Including bread, pasta, ice cream......0

I never restricted carbohydrates while losing weight. I lost 42 pounds and am comfortably maintaining it with carbohydrates being 50-60% of my daily intake.1
-
I've lost 15 lbs already and have not cut a thing from my diet but Pop-Tarts. Still eat plenty of rice, potatoes, pasta...0

To date, the community at avatar nutrition has lost 41,509 lbs without cutting carbs out.0

I have my macros set to MFP's default at 50%. I've lost and kept off ~60 lbs eating as much or as little carbs as I want.0

I think the idea is the way of eating that works best for you, is the one to go with, based on your preferences/intolerances/whatever. There's obviously different considerations with each of these in terms of overall nutrition and health impacts, but despite all of that, the calorie deficit that mattes most in terms of weight loss. Confession: I don't think I quite fit into any of the below. I just set my calorie deficit, ate what I fancied in relation to that target, adjusted what foods I used to hit that target when I found what kept me most full, energised and happy, and I've kept the weight off +/- 3 lbs here and there for the past several years.

Yes, I have started to eat more whole grain high fiber breads and crackers. But other than that not much change except a smaller amount.0

If you stick with a calorie deficit with exercise there should be no reason why you shouldn't lose weight n still have carbs!0

Go peek in the success story section of MFP. You'll find the majority of successes are from plain ole calorie restriction.2

80 lbs, still plenty of carbs. I do horrible on low carb - dizzy, weak, hangry.1

56 lbs in 6.5 months. Carb is the macro I'm likeliest to go over, in fact. I'm vegetarian and in my quest of hitting my protein levels, I'm also getting a lot of carbs along the way. Not hurting any.0

I lost 70 pounds. I rarely pay any attention to carbs. I try to hit my protein goal every day and I let fats and carbs fill out the rest.0
-
I didn't eliminate them or purposefully restrict them, but a typical consequence of reducing total calories is reducing the total amount of carbs - but not necessarily reducing the % carbs in your diet.
In my case, because I'm short and wasn't overweight to start with, my calorie goal was low. So, when I made sure I got enough protein and fat, my % carbs decreased by default. I was still not low carb. I probably averaged 100-150 grams of carbs per day.0 -
Sure have! It's really up to each individual person and what works best for them. But I focus on GOOD carbs - fruits, veggies, whole grains, beans. No processed garbage. I'm down 25 pounds!0
-
I don't find removing one kind of food from my diet to be helpful. So I don't eliminate anything & keep to a well balanced diet. I find that this is best for me &, well, for most people. I'd only remove something if my doctor said to do so, but all he's said to me is to reduce my caloric intake & to eat as healthy as possible, cutting back on junk food & upping my water & veggie intake.0

About 100 lbs.
In fact, I probably eat more carbs now than I did before BUT my choice of carbs is different and I am way more active than I ever was.1 -
Yes, 112 pounds lost (used to be more, had a small planned regain) and carbs make up roughly 55% of my calories, sometimes more.

I don't mean to take over OP's discussion, but I think my question kind of goes "hand in hand" with the question. I've always wondered about cutting carbs, also.. However, could you tell me if there are certain type of exercises that one does to be able to keep carbs in their "diet", to loose the weight? Please forgive me, it this is not appropriate.0 -
I'm like @ladyreva78 except I'm awaiting gallbladder removal, eating very low fat, high carb and even high sugar, got to get my calories from somewhere, I'm down 34 lbs since mid Jan 171
