Shopping for Supplements/Nutrition/Etc.

So I have a question- I like to eat a protein bar with some fruit for lunch (cause I am a lazy potato who doesn't cook much) and I usually just buy the bars I like at my local grocery store and replenish my post-workout protein powder the same way. But there has to be a more cost-effective way to get these things. Where do you like to purchase your nutrition products to save a little money? Amazon? Costco/Sam's Club? Walmart? GNC? Or are there certain brands you find to be an excellent value for the product? Thanks- just trying to save a few pennies!

Bodybuilding.com has a large selection of protein powders with reviews..you can filter by total price and price per serving (and a bunch of other stuff) as well.2

For GNC, I think the prices for the same product/size were the same. Everything I saw from the GNC-specific name brand was on the pricy side. I have no idea for Costco/Walmart/etc. I didn't check Amazon (it was easier to compare $/size on the other sites and I had credit on my BCBS wellness card (which is usable at bodybuilding.com/GNC/vitamin world).1

Jym and Muscletech have some decently priced options with good reviews.1

Thanks for the information! I have not used any Jym or Muscletech products to date- I'll have to check them out.0

On Amazon you can subscribe to various items and have them delivered every month. The more you have on your order, the more you save. This is great for things you use up regularly.1

Subscribe and Save- don't you need to have a Prime membership to use that? Or no?0

Costco has a good selection of both powders and bars in my town; the selection is mostly vanilla and chocolate powders, but a pretty good variety of bars. They have the lowest prices I have seen by far. Sometimes I order more specialty products, like grass fed whey or special flavors, from Vitacost, although I do cost compare with Amazon to make sure I am getting the best deal.1

Is Costco usually cheaper than Amazon? Hmmm interesting I didn't know that.0 -
iHerb gives you a 10% credit from your order to be used on future orders. Ex. $100 order = $10 credit
What's the protein bar that you're eating?

I alternate with sales but I have a few that I will circulate around: clif builder's, think thin, quest bars. I essentially look for something under 300 calories and at least 20g of protein as it is more for a quick meal not a snack. I am not low carb but I try to make sure that the protein content is close/more than the carb content but I don't always get that (clif bars generally have higher carbs).0 -

Esupplements.com and luckyvitamin.com are my favorite. If y'all shop at GNC, they price match bodybuilding1

Wow, really? I didn't know that- very good to know. Thanks!0 -
I buy Kirkland brand (comparable to Quest), Pure Protein and Zone bars at Costco.
I keep my eyes open online for deals on more premium bars such as Quest and Combat crunch.
Rule of thumb, I'll spend less than $1 per bar at Costco and about $1.25 per bar online.1 -

I always cost compare and usually Costco is less expensive in my area.1 -
I make my own protein bars out of chocolate rice protein powder, rolled oats, ground flaxseed, almond milk, a little pb fit powder. and a little egg replacer as a binder. I make them in a silicone mold that I picked up on Amazon. They are guilt free and I use them as one or two of my meals every day. I make them in bulk so I have a bunch for the week. Most of the protein bars in the stores are junk.1
