I've been filling in the food and exercise diary here and there and every-time I do I seem to have had more calories than I think. I've cut out all refined sugar except for what is hidden in sauces. No biscuit, cakes sweet drinks etc and dread to think the calorie intake I was having before I did this. I still seem to reach 2000 calories and don't feel like I'm eating that much. I've limited carbs and eat more fruit and veg. What am I doing wrong

It's hard, I was probably eating around 4,000 to 5,000 calories a day before I started. It was an eye opener for me. I count everything and try to limit myself to a certain amount of calories for breakfast and lunch and then I am more flexible with dinner. 95% of the days I stay below my current limit of 1700 calories. I have lost 38 pounds in 125 days and feel better than I have in years. My food diary is open, but you have to ignore the past few days, Mother's day and my birthday led to some misses on recording.1

Thanks for your reply. Its really difficult. I need to lose about 28 pounds/2 stone. Apparently I am calorie restricted to 1200 for this. Not sure if I'm measuring food right. I've never measured food in a cup. What size cup??0

1200 is about as low as you can go on MFP (Myfitnesspal) my wife is supposed to be at 1200 but her doctor told her not to go below 1400. She is pretty strict about that and tries to eat right at 1400 a day. She has lost 16 pounds in 100 days but she is not able to exercise.0

Typical pre-MFP day, Breakfast: three pieces of french toast covered in syrup and powdered sugar, 7 or 8 sausage links, 2 cups of chocolate milk. Lunch: 2 quesadillas, 3 or 4 servings of Doritos, 42 oz, Dr. Pepper. Snack: Candy bar, banana, couple of cheese sticks, dinner: 3/4 of a large Papa Murphy's pepperoni pizza, more soda, breadsticks. Late night snacks, Chocolate milk, cookies, half a bag of chips. No exercise, lots of Netflix and chill.
Good luck, it almost killed me.0 -
