Hey everyone. So I am actually reaching out to see if anyone has any suggestions on articles or books to read that talk about calculating macros. I have tried many different calculators and I'd love to hire someone to calculate mine for me… But I don't have the money right now. So any helpful articles or books like I said that you guys have read to calculate your macros please leave them below. Thanks.

    What are your goals?

I'll be honest it would never occur to me to read a book or pay someone to figure out my macros. I just started with the MFP default and then tweaked them to improve satiety and amp up my protein a little.

Are you an athlete or trying to cope with a health issue?

It's actually not that hard to calculate macros, behind almost every product there's usually a label with the macros per serving or grams or you just search their nutrition facts on google, you fill up your daily macros with these, depends on your type of diet myfitnesspal dairy can help you with this

typical diet plan macros is 50% carbs 20% fat 30% protein

I just use the mfp percentages. It's not exact for grams but it's free.

Under goals> I use 40/30/30. I find this is the easiest for me to stick to.

My goal is to lose weight and right now I eat about 90% vegan. Still trying to transition while eating out etc.

I also try to hit 40% protein, 30/30 on carbs/fat. I also try to hit a minimum of 160g of protein a day +eating back protein for exercise on top of that.

This link really helped me - maybe it will you - https://www.bodybuilding.com/content/macro-math-3-keys-to-dialing-in-your-macro-ratios.html

Everyone's body and mind will be different and you have to find what works for you. The aforementioned website helped me get there faster.

Your macro distribution will not affect your weight loss directly, that's all about calories. Macros can affect your satiety though, but everyone is different. Alot of people start with the MFP default and if they find themselves hungry, will increase the protein and/or fat a bit until they find their sweet spot. I know a lot of diets support a 40-30-30 ratio.
