ChaLean Extreme vs hybrid schedule question

Hello
I am currently doing Jillian Michaels workouts and really love them. Will be busy with for another 1.5 months. After I have finished that I would like to get into lifting weights. I do have ChaLean Extreme but didn't have weights when I first did it and didn't like the bands with it. Anyway...
I was looking at the ChaLean Extreme and Turbo Fire hybrid schedule. I did Turbo Fire before but got a little bored and I felt it was too much cardio for me and not enough sculpting/toning workouts.
When looking at the schedule I felt it was a lot of TF workouts. It looks like mainly cardio and just a bit of weight lifting.
I am now wondering if I should do just ChaLEan Extreme? What are the advantages of the hybrid?
Any opinions and advise would be appreciated!

I am doing the hybrid right now and I love it. And on the days that it is just CLX, I add in running or elliptical so I have cardio pretty much every day. And the muscle burn from CLX makes you really look forward to the high impact cardo of Turbo Fire!! Good luck!0

I started out with Turbofire only, then picked CEX back up and started my own hybrid schedule. I did CEX the regular 3 days/week, and then Turbofire the other 2-3 days. I felt like with Turbofire alone I wasn't getting the strenth training I needed and that I was used to.
Also, I didn't care to much for the sculpting/toning videos that came with the Turbofire. I feel like I get more accomplished with heavy lifting-CEX0 -
The hybrid plan just ties in more cardio than you would normally get from the straight CLX videos...if you are not a cardio fan, just do the CLX video by itself and when you feel like doing some cardio tie in a second workout for that day of CLX and add a TF workout...I would use weighs too instead of the bands for the CLX workout to get better results.0

I've been doing a Chalean and Turbofire/Insanity hybrid. I follow the three day a week weight schedule, then use Turbofire or Insanity on cardio days (I do three days of cardio, if I remember right I think Chalean gives you two rest days?)
I didn't find the Chalean cardio very challenging, and I think Turbofire is a perfect substitute for the cardio. You get the awesome weight lifting program and the Turbofire challenge.0 -
Thank you very much for all the replies!
I think I will be going with ChaLean Extreme and do TF on the cardio days. I remember that I didn't like the ChaLean Extreme cardio that much. The hybrid seems to have too much cardio for me at the moment. Maybe in the future I'll give it a go.
I I feel I need extra cardio I might just do a spin class or something.
What about the HIIT workouts though. Do you leave them out completely or does anyone still add them in somehow?0 -
I think with the original hybrid schedule, she tried to develop a schedule that would ramp up fat loss, which is why there are the two HIIT months. If you don't really need to burn off any fat (if that's you in your profile pic, you definitely don't!) then doing your own schedule would probably be beneficial. I'm doing the regular hybrid calendar because I have a ton of fat to lose.0

Yep, do CLX on your usual days and just sub in TurboFire for you cardio. I also subbed in TF Core for abs too! It just mixes it up a bit, but I agree... I like the weight lifting that CLX offers.0

I usually use the HIIT workouts on weight days for the extra cardio. You can always sub them in for cardio days and just use the HIIT workouts, or do a HIIT workout and a shorter regular cardio.0

Well I do have a certain amount of fat to lose! I do think however that I'll just give the regular ChaLean Extreme schedule a go. Thanks for the advise regarding the HIIT workouts. I will see how to squeeze them in. I do like them so would like to add them!0
