Hey, just wondered if having a artificial sweetener in coffee is healthier than having sugar?

It's neither healthier nor unhealthier. It just saves you calories.
And before anyone comes in stating how bad sweeteners are: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1308408/why-aspartame-isnt-scary7 -

It certainly cuts calories which allows you to get calories from other sources. So indirectly, it can be healthier.1

Thanks for clearing that up many thanks!!!!!0

It's healthier if it means keeping you at a normal weight and/or losing so you can be at a normal weight. People will probably come to this thread to tell you how it's going to do x,y,z and how terrible it is for you but it's simply not supported by science. Cut your cals where you can.
I personally didn't like the taste compared to real sugar at first but I got used to it and now if they accidentally put regular sugar in my coffee I find I'm the opposite lol0 -

Yep, this.
I buy boxes of sucralose packets at the dollar store. I like my coffee sweet and one packet does the trick, vs several teaspoons of sugar that would add up in calories.1 -
I never thought I could kick my sweet coffee habit. But I started by halving the amount of sugar, then working down to none (just 2% milk). Then I went to black. Now that I am 6 weeks on black coffee, anything with milk or sweetener in it tastes gross. Try scaling it back over time and you may find you don't even need it anymore.0
