In our last (JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS) Round 4, we still saw some significant changes in weight loss as we logged the good with the not so good days! We again added a few more followers and found it nice to encourage others along the way! We are learning every day what works and what doesn't on this journey! It's so great to have short term goals and to break up our long term goals in smaller increments so it doesn't always seem so overwhelming.
So Starting on May 23 - June 1 | JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, will begin Round 5 -Lets see what more we can as we reach a total of 50 days consecutively!
Anyone else game?
Weighing yourself everyday? Controversial you may say? Well for me personally, checking the scale can be motivating. I read in a study of 3,500 people who maintained 60 or more pounds of weight loss for at least a year, researchers from the National Weight Control Registry found that 44 percent weighed themselves every day. Another study in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine found that overweight people are six times more likely to lose weight if they weigh themselves at least once a day. I don't about you, but it helps me and motivates me to keep going or to tweak what I did the day before. I never weigh more than just once in the morning. Our weight fluctuates constantly throughout the day with what we drink and consume, so only make it a 'once a day' rule for sanity sake.
Let's give it our best 10 days ever for an inspirational jump start to Spring and Summer!
Here is what to do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.

ENCOURAGING WORD FOR OUR START TO ROUND 5....
I read this morning that it is important to dream about a goal; but just dreaming about it isn't enough! When we dream about a thing we also need to go for it! Do it! Dreaming is good, but going after what we dream about is even better! So today I'm not just dreaming about it---I'm going after it and am going to do this thing!

New to the group and back on MFP again! Can't wait to see what I can accomplish in 10 days. I have a lot of weight to drop and huge changes to my diet, so let's do this!

Comments and weight log from Round 4 (last three days...)
05/20 144.8 Poor choices have finally caught up with me. I'm gonna start what's called 5:2 intermittent fasting. It is petty popular right now and the studies out there are interesting to me. So it's 5 days of eating near 1200 calories with 2 days a week calories only fasting around 500-600 calories. But during the low calorie days I will make sure protein and good fats are included. I know this is low, but I'm gonna see if it doesn't shake up some of my plateau resistance.
05/21 144.4. No comment on this, but felt good to be down .4
05/22. 144.1 Down .3 and I did manage to stay within a few pound range during vacations, family visits etc...and am ready for ROUND 5!

Can I join in, I set myself a mini goal to be under 11 stone (154lb) by the 1st June but the scale hasn't moved for a few days, so I'm hoping 10 days of being accountable will get me there!

This sounds like a good idea. I need to get motivated again to get below my ultimate goal of 200lbs. I've lost a lot of weight over the past 18 months, so it’s a really slow process at this point! Weighing in and updating this challenge daily should help to keep me on track.
Good luck everyone.

I'll give this a go. A little public accountability is not a bad thing at all. As it happens I do weigh myself every day (almost) and take measurements on Mondays.

I was a newcomer in Round 4--ready to get even healthier in Round 5! Thank you all for the encouragement. I am a major stress candy eater at work, and it has sabotaged my goal to lose ten pounds. Additionally, my last lab work showed by fasting blood sugar at pre-diabetic. I actually spent the last round of ten days eating absolutely no candy in my office, which I thought was an impossible habit to break. I am honestly still super vulnerable. Wanted to eat candy this afternoon and ate two packages of peanut butter crackers back to back just to distract myself. Not the best choice, but it kept me away from the chocolate. Haha.

05/23 51.7kg one good thing abouth weighing myself every day is that I can correct my mistakes quickly, yesterday morning I was 52.7kg after drinking and going to restaurant at the weekend. Yesterday I tried to eat well, went to the gym and all the excess weekend weight came off! Yay!

I'll join, if I may? I could do with being accountable for being good for just 10 days straight! I'm supposedly maintaining, but am currently sitting just under the top of my comfortable maintenance range, so I could really do with buckling down to lose a few pounds. My maintenance range is 137-142lbs - challenge accepted!
