Ok so I got into an accident early last month. Was told to halt all physical activity(suffered a back and hip injury) until I started Physical Therapy. During that down time I gained about 7 lbs(went from 183 back up to 190

It happens sometimes. Phone emojis mess it up.

That said, it's not that bad. Take a breather and then hit us with the rest of your story.

Mfp doesn't like emojis from phones. It cuts text off. Someone should look into that. It sucks.

Sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you feel better soon. You're most likely retaining waiter from your injury. Get better soon.

As cerise says, there is very likely water retention happening, the body does funky things when it's healing.

Hey y'all! I'm back! Today had just been stressful had to take a minute to woosah! But what I was saying is that I'm frustrated that I'm not losing weight as quickly as I usually do. I think it may be water retention because though my back is mostly healed I still have pain and swelling in my hip. I just wanted to be down a certain amount by my birthday (June 30th) but I feel like I was set back due to the accident and being out for a month and a half.

Also, I now know not to use emojis on MFP. Lol

You know, after reading the first post, I was thinking, "You call that a vent?" But this post? Now that's a vent! :)

This made me laugh so hard! Lol

    Sorry for your injury!

Your body is holding on to water to help in the repair process, which is a good thing. Let it do what it needs to do to heal.

Try not to care about the number on the scale. It goes up and down every day anyway.

How fast is "as quickly as I usually do"?

I'm sorry. I would be devastated if it happened to me... I need to stay active or I gain (because I eat too much!).

Your body is busy repairing your injuries. Also your activity level has suffered as a result, so a bit of a double whammy. Accept the setback and adjust your expectations accordingly. Focus on the healing because it's your body's priority and needs to be yours, too. You only get one chance to heal completely and properly from injury. The extra weight can always come off after you're healed.
