"Bread" Replacement Ideas?

lettuce or just roll up the meat around whatever you are eating. I like to make ham pickle and cheese roll ups14

Lettuce wraps.....but then that makes we want to skip the sandwich thing altogether and just have a salad.
2 slices of Sara Lee 100% Whole Wheat is only 120 calories.....I don't think it's all that bad6 -
Ideas maybe, low carb tortilla wraps (the ones I get a 80 cals, 13 carbs, 10 grams of fiber, 3 protein),
You can use lettuce and fill up with more "filler"
Also there is Double Fiber bread by Nature Valley but it does not agree with me at all.
I use White/wheat for 110 calories and good on protein and fiber as well.

I buy some La Tortilla Factory wraps that are 70 cals each... I get them at some low carb specialty store because they use them because they have tons of fibre and 5g protein (and while I'm not low carb, I do appreciate sparing calories and increasing protein and fibre where I can)5

Sarah Lee makes several types of bread that is lower calorie (45 cals per slice). We like the Multigrain for the fiber content, 2 slices = 90 cals. Otherwise, we've done plenty of lettuce wraps using butter lettuce. We don't do it to avoid carbs, but just to avoid the extra calories of a corn/flour tortilla.4

My regular grocer carries them and they are DELICIOUS better than regular tortillas.
Other choices like said are lettuce wraps
Or if you're feeling adventurous you could make bread substitute out of different ingredients with a google search. I've seen "healthy" breads in the normal bread isle as low as 40 cals per slice as well.2 -

My regular grocery store also has them and I love them. I make pizzas on them sometimes. I also use Sandwich thins, I think they are 100 calories.

Meat; pound out some chicken really thin like, steaks, etc. Wrap it around everything. When your co-workers, friends, family, see you eating a hamburger wrapped in chicken; they'll be envious of your sweet gainz (doth thou' even lift? ) and the deliciousness you exude!
Seriously!!
What is better than a hamburger? Toss the bun and wrap that sucker in Prosciutto!

If it's a savory sandwich this may not work, but you could make thin, flourless, low-carb pancakes and use those as bread. Mixing a banana, and an egg together will make the pancake, but you can add other stuff like peanut butter, and put jam in the middle of two 'cakes for a Pb & j.2

Xtreme Wellness tortilla wraps are also fantastic. High in fiber, burrito-sized, and only 50 calories.4

Ezekiel Bread - it is gluten free and much better for you3

You could always use meat as your "bread". It worked for KFC. When I eat burgers, I will use two patties and sandwich the veggies and sauces in between. I call them burger thongs or burger wedgies.5

I don't eat bread. Makes me feel icky0

Rice paper or nori sheets. I love lettuce wraps too.2

I have not tried this but have always thought it was a creative idea:

Ole Xtreme Wellness Tortilla. It's a burrito-sized wrap that delivers Omega-3, fiber, and only 50 calories. Put all your fixings in it, roll it up, and do yourself good.3

I use red cabbage leaves for wraps. They're a little more substantial than lettuce. Nori (the seaweed you wrap sushi in) is another option. A lot of people use roasted slices of cauliflower but I haven't tried it.1

This is a great idea so I just made this since I had cucumbers and deli meat. After trying it I recommend eating them open faced, like a cucumber boat. The middles slide around (and squeeze out) too easily otherwise. Thanks for the idea.

I've tried it. The cucumber is so slippery I could never get any of the spreads to stick. Frustrating, lol.
I second low carb tortillas/flatbread. La Tortilla Factory, Flat Out, Tumaro's... bunch of options out there.0 -
Mission Carb Balance (available in many sizes and whole wheat, white, etc.) While it still has carbs, there are a HECKUVA lot of fiber in these, so it's a better bang for your nutritional buck.1

The Aldi Fit & Active flatbreads are my jam: 90 calories, 9 grams of protein and 9 grams of fiber. Super yum. Otherwise I just wrap my deli meat around a cheese stick and call it a day.1

Rice paper, wrap stuff like you would in a fresh spring roll. That would be a good alternative if you don't mind the chewiness of rice paper because even the largest one would be under 50 calories. Not as flimsy and hard to eat as lettuce wraps, and works with both sweet and savory fillings.
Personally, nothing but bread does it for me in sandwiches, but then again bread fills me up.2 -

100% whole wheat sandwich thins
low carb tortillas
Both work well as vehicles for the goodies.
I also tried blanched collard greens. Those made GREAT and sturdy wraps, but were very time consuming.1 -
I just use a fork and eat what I might otherwise put in a sandwich. I don't really like to pick up anything that seems like it might be messy. (My using a fork instead of eating a sandwich has a long history, as I had a weird dislike of supermarket bread as a kid and refused to eat it, and I remember being puzzled that people would ruin leftover Thanksgiving turkey by putting it in bread when it was so delicious on its own.)
Now I've discovered lots of breads I like, but rarely eat it, because it's usually not worth the calories for me anyway.1 -

I have used portabella mushrooms for buns. It makes a killer burger.10

Sara Lee low calorie bread tastes gross... Killer Dave's thin sliced bread is 60 a slice with a lot of protein, fiber, and omega 3s if you are going to compromise on bread.
I personally eat a lot of brotzeit teller/antipasto/"meat and cheese plate(?)" with pickles/veggies and European meat or cheeses. It's an alternative to a built sandwich.
I also love serving chicken salad/tuna salad/egg salad/chickpea salad instead of as a "sandwich" in little Belgian endive leaves. Makes for great low carb entertaining.0 -

Tuna/salmon/chicken salad was what I pictured this working best with.0 -
Cloud Bread, made from egg-whites and cream cheese. 0-carb, tastes just like bread. Look it up.4
