Well you've lost some weight on the treadmill and that's a great start! Personally, I need to have someone to tell me what to do. I tried the whole "doing-it-on-my-own" thing before with not much success. Try a workout program like 30 day shred, Zumba, P90X or Insanity or something. You don't even have to buy it. Ask your friends or co-workers if they have some workout DVDs they don't use.

That all depends on what your goals are. If its primarily weight loss (why most of us are here!) then you want to focus on Cardio type exercises. Running, biking etc. You should be doing nothing less than 3 days/week at Least 30 minutes of high level cardio where your heart rate is in its aerobic zone. If you can easily carry on a conversation, you aren't working it hard enough! Then start to add some strength exercises, free weights, etc. This will build lean muscle mass, which although technically adds weight, this is the good kind. That extra lean muscle mass will then burn more calories!!!

I am in the same boat and need instruction on exercise. I'm in the market for some workout DVD's, but I would like to get started with some basic weight lifting routines. Prefer to workout out at home, so any suggestions on where I can purchase equipment is appreciated.
  • I am on my treadmill at least 5 times a week. the weekend is hard, since i dont get much support at home, and its a joke that im trying to lose weight. I am buying resistance bands this week. i cant afford a homegym right now. so i researched the bands and all i find on them is great things. so i am going to be adding them..

Look up the book "You Are Your Own Gym." It's a great book of bodyweight exercises with modifications for all fitness levels (from new to very advanced), and you don't need any equipment for them, except maybe a pull-up bar.

Get some used ones on craigslist. They always have used workout equipment, DVD's, etc. for cheap!
