What could be a reason for losing pounds but little to no inches?

Inches lost could be from anywhere. You are losing! Great!0

I'm down almost 30lbs but have only lost 1 inch on my waist and 1 inch on my hips. Everywhere else hasn't changed.
Am I out to lunch thinking I should be down a little more inches? Or is that normal?
30 lbs down and my clothes feel baggy but the next size down is still tight.

"Multiple regression tells us that on average, for every 8.5 pounds lost, people dropped an inch off their waist. (And for every 1.5 kilograms lost, people dropped a centimeter off their waist.) Every 10 pounds lost was accompanied by 1.18 inches of waistline reduction"
^ Google quote. But really everyone varies and you have also lost an inch in your hips. I'd say it's about normal.1 -
If you have a lot to lose, that is not unusual. The less you weight, the more dramatic the difference is for each pound lost.
Also...I take a wide range of measurements and track weekly. I measure neck, chest, under breasts, natural waist, at belly button, hips, upper arm, forearm, wrist, thigh, calf, and ankle. I know...it sounds like a lot. BUT...something is almost always smaller...sometimes the waist or hips, but sometimes it is the neck or ankles. Weight comes off all over your body...if you only take 2 or 3 measurements, there will be many weeks when you don't record a change.1 -

Yes I do have a lot to lose. Over 100 lbs still.0 -
Inches come off slowly. You only need to measure once a month at most or you will drive yourself crazy0

Also, I know from personal experience that there is a bigger difference between one size and the next at larger sizes (manufacturers make them that way deliberately.) So losing 30 pounds and still not being able to fit comfortably into the smaller size is really common. You will notice that once you get down a bit, you will need to change sizes more frequently. It is very annoying at the start...but then it is nice later on to eventually see things change faster.1 -
My clothes are baggy now refusing to buy clothes yet haha. Well my trousers I can cope with they are so comfortable at moment0
