I was maintaining on 2850, then added an extra 500 on lifting days to increase training capacity. This put me at a 3136/ day average. In the past week though, that amount finally showed itself to have turned into a minor deficit. Added another 100 on training days, so now at 3193/day average, but I can't quite tell if the loss is leveling off yet. Should know more next week.

I just finished my cut, right now I am trying to find my maintenance which I believe is somewhere around 2700 calories and by next week I should be going at 2800 calories. usually at the peak of my bulk, I hit a high of 3700 calories, so it should be fun once I am over 3000 calories. This time around I will try to bulk while doing IF, I felt it should be an interesting challenge :)

Great work! Know a lot of people who've had success with IF bulking. Epic pasta bowls and a lot of B & J :D

That's my current maintenance on 17k+ steps, but I can't do that many every day and I want to lose not maintain. Do I get an honorary membership card?

Lifting: I run 5/3/1 with 3 Joker sets (+5/10/15% upper body, +10/20/30% on lower) after the amrap sets, 5x3@90% supplementals (squats on deadlift day, deads on squat day, ohp on bench day, bench on ohp day), and random complementary accessories 4 days per week.

Recovery: 45 mins to an hour LISS on a recumbent on non-lifting days.

Other than that, it's just a bit of walking (15-25k steps per day) every day.

2800 is my estimated slow bulk calories for a little less than .5lbs a week. One day, I will join you at this amazing place. The idea of having to eat so many calories per day is.... exciting.

Wait till your under 2500 calories, you will want to devour your own skin.

Never have to go below 2800 cals
    Thank god, I don't compete

I'm still trying to find my slow bulk level and I'm currently averaging over 2700 between workout and non-workout days. Didn't gain a pound at 2500 or 2600. This is all new to me so I'm still feeling my way around in the dark. Guess I don't make the 2800 club though :'(

Well, yeah...for some people it is. My maintenance is between 2800-3000 calories per day depending on the season and what I'm doing, so it's pretty necessary in order for me to maintain my weight.

This. I slipped into an accidental deficit eating 3150/day, and I'm only 5'10", 170.5 lbs. I can't imagine how absurd it's going to eventually be if I keep running bulk/cut cycles, and maintain a similar activity level.

I'm close to that.. in the 2600-2700ish range right now. I'd say by next year when I have a bit more muscle built I'll be in the 2800ish maintaining club. Right now it just depends on how much exercise I get done in a week, sometimes 2600 isn't enough. Trying to drop another 5% body fat this summer so will be going down to 2500ish and pushing harder starting tomorrow (June 1).

Seeing as how people are different, yes it's necessary for some.

I could lose on 2800 if I have an active day.
