Logging cherries?

So it's cherry season here and I haven't eaten them for years and I finally want to try some.
But I'm not sure how to weigh and log them, I mean their pits are not consumed therefore I have to somehow weigh the cherries without the pits... is there a certain cherry-pit ratio, like 100g of cherries yield x grams of pits?
Please tell me how you weigh and log your cherries!

Perhaps search for usda pitted cherries in the database or use the with pits option depending on if you're prepping them.0

I have a cheery putter so I remove the pits before I weigh them1

Weigh the cherrys
put pits to the side while eating.
Weigh the pits after you finish.
Subtract the weight of the pits from the overall cherry weight
Log this number26 -
I use the USDA entry for cherries with pits.4

I'd weigh it the same way I do with anything that you only eat part of (apples, corn cobs, pistachios):
- Weigh the whole fruit/veg/nut/serve
- Eat the edible part
- Weigh the inedible part
- Subtract the inedible part weight from the whole weight
I wish i had some cherries right now..1 -
I'm using the entry Cherries 100 g 50 calories.
Nowhere near in season here, but I have bags of them in my freezer, pitted. I'll eat 2-300 grams when I do, more if I need to get "things" moving and it seems close enough for me.0 -

This is how I would do it. I do this with steak too. Once I cut all the fat off I weigh it and subtract the ounces haha It's cooked weight vs raw weight but the inaccuracy is in my favor and I'm not logging 2oz of fat red meat I didn't consume lol0 -

I would do this once with one average size cherry - log it as 1 cherry, x grams
And then assume every cherry is the same and log it as same amount first one was.
Not entirely accurate but averages out and would be good enough for me.

I swallow the pits because I'm lazy and my GI track is basically a garbage disposal (I can eat anything w/no GI issues...) probably not the best plan but... yeah. I weigh the whole cherry, put and all, for this reason lol.
Pro Tip: don't be like me.1 -

This made me laugh. Yesterday I was chewing gum and wanted to be rid of it but there was no trash can nearby. I was thinking of swallowing it but then though no, I don't know how to log that.

There are already entries on MFP for cherries - - pitted or unpitted. Take your pick.
I live w/in 5 mins of cherry orchards and have already picked, eaten and canned over 20# of them. Yum!
The season is almost over. So get them while they last.1 -

This is what I've done, but I am considering using the with pits entry now that I've learned about it.
