Being able to get up into my SUV without having to hold on to any handles or doors or seats and hoist. The joys of being stronger!!!23

Combat class cancelled - did not huff and plan to storm off home.
Am going to do wk5, run 3 of C25K (20mins eek!) and then stick around for the Pump class which is still on.
I must be getting more mature!20 -
My tummy curves in under my ribcage instead of sticking out. I've been really impatient with my belly fat - although I was losing weight none seemed to be from my belly - and today the upper part of my stomach is just suddenly a different shape.24

I'm now in the "overweight' BMI category instead of obese. Woo!
Though, I'm wondering how much stock I should put in the measurement itself since it's based on a weight correlation. Using the BMI there's no real way to reflect the health of a person who is small in measurements but heavy in weight on account of the muscle.
I only mention this b/c my moms work gives a slight health insurance discount for documented trips to the Y and having good healthy stats on a yearly basis. She bumped up ever so slightly from healthy BMI to overweight BMI on account of Triathlon training and increased muscle mass. He blood work was perfect and measurements down but they took away the discount because according to that one measurement spectrum she didn't meeet the requirements.
Frustrating. Especially since she works in a hospital...you'd hope the system would have a better understanding of how to measure true health...
Has anyone else had any issues with different measurements not accurately reflecting your true health?13 -

I think I got slim-shamed (does that even exist?). I went to the doctor's office and the nurse asked me to get on the scale. I paused to take of my shoes. She said, "Oh, come on." I looked up at her and she rolled her eyes. She said, " If I had your cute little figure, I wouldn't be worried about my shoes." --in kind of a nasty tone of voice. I didn't say anything and just got on the scale (without my shoes). Honestly, the 'compliment' didn't even register since I am still 300 lbs in my mind. We went into the exam room where she saw on my records I had lost 130 lbs since my last visit. My goodness did her tone ever change. Suddenly she wanted to know how I did it, how she couldn't tell by looking at me that I wasn't always this way, and I got to hear stories of her failures. So apparently it is ok to have a 'cute little figure' if you used to be fat, but if you were always like that, then boo on you! Anyone else ever experience the opposite to fat shaming?
ETA: The NSV may have gotten lost in my story. I was thrilled to be considered the possessor of a cute little figure (though I don't see it).44 -
^I'm sorry that happened to you, Julie. That is extremely rude and unprofessional, and a nurse should know better than to make a comment about -anyone's- "figure" when they're weighing in. The scale is such a fraught place to be even without a virtual stranger hanging out, making comments.20

I've never experienced it myself, but judging by the stories on these boards "skinny shaming" or "fit shaming" is definitely a thing. But yes, it was very unprofessional of the nurse to comment at all, much less to badger you afterwards on the subject of weight loss!

I did my first 20min on C25K last night and didn't die.
I was on the treadmill, so incline 1%, 8km per hour for the jog and Disturbed and Alice Cooper on the music playlist.
5 mins in - ok I got this
10 mins - gods this is boring
12 mins - is that stitch? deep breaths, no, good, it has gone
15mins - boring, bored, am I done yet
18mins - oh gods that is stitch - breathe, just 2 mins left, just breathe
20mins - thank *kitten* for that!!
5 min cool down walk and a stretch and felt amazing!! off to Pump class.

I have never sweated as much though!! literally dripping on the treadmill belt during cool down!
I am sometimes quite scared by the fact that I am running/jogging/ moving faster than usual for even more than a minute!20 -
I've had my eye on this dress for my best friend's wedding, but since the wedding is in September and I still want to lose another 15-20lbs, I tried on the smallest available size (UK 8/ US 6 / EU 34) to see how far up I could get the zipper now and if there was a chance it could fit in 3 months. To my utter surprise I could fully zip it up. A week ago, I could barely zip the same dress in a 10. It was a bit snug up top but otherwise fine. I don't think I've actually fit into a size 8 dress before. Pants, sure. Dresses never. So don't know if there isn't some vanity sizing in play here... Luckily, the bride wasn't a big fan of the pattern so it was easier to put it back. At least now I know which style I want and can get a proper fitting dress closer to the wedding.19

Just cycled my first +30 mile ride yesterday, and I woke up today with minor muscle aches instead of major aches and inflammation that would have occurred before changing my eating habits.23

Had to fast this morning for employer's annual Health Risk Assessment and blood draw. Somehow I've lost 1/2" in height which is very important at 5'4". Anyway, weight is lower, waist is smaller, and bp is in good range, since 7/28/16 HRA, even though I'm not at goal yet. Can't wait to see the final score this year. [My employer discounts my health insurance premium based on my score.]21

I fit into a pair of capris that have been put away for two years! Took the tags off this morning.23

Today I gathered up the courage to step into a Victoria's Secret store for the first time in my life (was always in the big lady stores and the thought of shopping there was very intimdating). I got bras that fit. At a regular store. No sideways glance, no faces that say "you don't belong in here." I didn't look any different from anyone else in there.38

Well I'm not yet a success story until I lose the remaining 20lbs. But I'm proud of my partial accomplishment. The real NSV here is successful commitment to change. If I can do this and achieve my end goal then I have proven to myself I can accomplish so much more in my life, not just weight loss.

My bum fits into Medium sized knickers and UK size 14 dresses! Used to be an 18 and L-XL!
Still felt like 'omg, people around me in the shop must think I'm delusional buying that size' , but what can you do, the mental weight loss is twice as long as the physical.28 -
Single digit clothing size. Started my journey at a tight 24/loose 26, but am now in a size 8 (even found one old Goodwill pair of size 6s that fit). First time I've been in single digits in my entire adult life.48

Came to work in my usual scrub pants. After about an hour, I couldn't stand them just about falling off of my body. I had to go to the OR and get new pair in the next lower size only to find that they're super big now too!31

Our annual company meeting was this week so I saw remote employees I hadn't seen for about a year. Had to laugh because I got compliments on changing my hair, but not the 85 pounds lost. Lol at least they noticed /something/ was different31

I went to Five Guys tonight and kept my dinner under my remaining calories for the day. And I had not planned on going tonight. Do you how hard it is not to eat, like, 1000 calories at Five Guys? I got a Little Hamburger and had about 1/2 cup of fries. OMG...their fries are like a piece of heaven. I thought I'd cave and eat the entire bag, but surprisingly I had my 1/2 cup and I felt full. I was proud of myself!45

I had a lot of errands to run today and wasn't able to do my morning workout. When I got home, the kids didn't nap. I was so tired and feeling lazy.
But finally pushed myself to get that workout done at 11:30pm! So it still counts as Friday's workout haha25 -
I attained my first running goal, I ran a sub 25 minute 5K! 24:04 to be precise!31

Tonight I wore a pair of pre 2nd baby shorts and a pretty tank top I had all but given up on ever wearing again!
(We hope for more kids and I had given up on account of wanting to get pregnant again soon)
... Which I guess that means I've done what I set out to do! My goal was to lose the baby weight from pregnancy #2 & strengthen my body as much as possible before becoming pregnant a 3rd time! WOW!
Welp, NEW GOAL: lets see how much baby weight from #1 I can lose before becoming pregnant with the 3rd!
I'm in shock. I didn't realize the goal was complete until typing this out!35 -

Just don't tell my daughter, she has nightmares that I'm going to fall off at high speed. I keep telling her that I've got life assurance but she still worries . . .
