I've been sticking to 1300 cals. I've managed my 10k steps each day as well as 20min on rowing machine or exercise bike 2 out of 3 days.
My weight keeps going up rather than down. It's very disheartening
Can anyone give me some advice
Thanks

Up by how much in what timescale?
Do you weigh your food with scales?2 -
Yeah I've got digital scales I use all the time
I've put on 14lbs in less than a month
I do have a new job that's more sedentary but that's why I bought a pedometer to keep on my 10k steps2 -

No definitely not
I've got 2 kids and physically can't have more.0 -
You've gained 14 lbs in under a month eating 1300 calories?

So you've gained 14 pounds in less than a month but you're not pregnant, you eat 1300 calories per day, and weigh ALL of your food on a food scale down to the gram? Am I reading that properly? If so, my next question is do you have cheat days? Making your food diary public would also help us pinpoint any issues.0

If you've really put on 14 pounds in a month, you should probably see a doctor, because even with inaccurate logging or cheat days (if that was the case) that is a lot of weight to put on in one month.

When did you take up the rowing machine?2

Do you have heart failure or kidney disease? Do you take a water pill? Are you having any difficulty breathing or needing to sleep with pillows propping you up at night?0

What's your current weight?
If I put on 14lbs of fat my clothes wouldn't fit any more.3 -
something is not adding up here...you are either waaaaay off in your logging, lying to yourself about how much you are eating, are pregnant or have some serious medical concerns - if you are sure it is not the first three, I'd see a Dr. immediately.6

When did you take up the rowing machine?
This.
Last time I gained 13lbs (I weigh every day, so I managed to see the spike over a few days), I had increased my lifting volume quite a bit, increased walking speed, ate extra sodium and was near TOM. It's not impossible... it came back down in under a week.1 -
Is your body weight scale on an even floor? Does it need fresh batteries?4

Are you prone to sleep walking and find yourself wondering about missing food often lately?10

There are mistakes that people commonly make that cause them to not lose weight that we might be able to spot if you change your Diary Sharing settings to Public: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings
Also, how tall are you?1 -

I have only recently increased my exercise to 20mins daily rather than just 3 days per week. It's also ridiculously warm. Starting to think it's water retention combined with an increase in muscle mass
Hopefully it'll balance out and start going back down0 -
Something definitely isn't right is you've put a stone on in a month. Although I guess technically it's not impossible, I put on 10lb over 2 days after running a half marathon, but then lost it again over the next 5 days. But 20 mins really isn't an amount of exercise that should lead to that much gain, so I'd go to the doctor if I was you.1

Do you eat 1300 calories, or do you eat 1300+exercise calories? What are your stats?
If you are eating 1300 calories, something really doesn't add up.0
