I work out in the evenings and enter in my exercise when I get home from the gym. Now its after 8pm and I am too short on calories. I don't necessarily know how much I will burn or if I will make it to the gym at night to eat more during the day. Anyone else short of calories because of how much they burn at the gym??? Anyone with ideas of how to get healthy calories?

You could consider a recovery drink when you get home. Blend fruit, nonfat yogurt, milk, and ice together for protein and calories.

Try your best to plan ahead. If you think you're going to hit the gym, eat a little more during the day. If you end up missing the gym once in a while, that's fine. Hopefully it will be the exception more than the norm.

It's after 8pm, but the night is still young. It's never too late to eat. What do you have at home? Focus on lean proteins, complex carbs, and healthy fats. Look at the macros in your diary to guide you. If you have a ton of protein remaining, eat protein. If you have a ton of carbs remaining eat carbs. If you're in balance, eat both.

When the stars are aligned and everything works out perfectly, I end up having a slice of whole grain toast w/ peanut butter, and a small whey shake right before bed. But I usually let my macros dictate.

All of this was of great help! One more question: If I am over in anything it is always protein. Is that a problem? I do weight lifting.. and when I drink a protein shake at the gym I really go over in protein.
