Hi Samantha. I've been doing a Keto diet for about 8 weeks now. From what I have read, you usually try and stay around 20-30g Net of carbs per day (Net is basically Carbs minus Fiber). That's usually about 5% of your carbs per day. The thing is, you want to up your healthy fat intake too... not sure the exact grams per day though.

    Hope this helps a little.

You want to know my honest opinion?

Keto is for corner-cutters. You may lose 3-4 lbs of WATER WEIGHT in the first week and think "oh I'm making progress." But after that, it's a slippery slope. You won't be able to focus, you'll feel groggy, and you won't feel like doing your workout on keto.

With that being said, limiting carbs is a whole 'nother story. I recommend limiting carbs to about 110g per day. But the most critical part is where the carbs come from. Opt for vegetables and fibrous whole grains. Not only will these keep your day bright and your metabolism running, they will AID in fat loss, more so than a ketogenic diet. So don't deny yourself wholesome foods. Just stay away from enriched grains and processed foods.

When eating meat, opt for lean meats such as chicken and turkey breast. Try skinless if possible. Egg whites are also another powerful food. As are all veggies. Hope this helps!

The secret to avoiding Keto fog or Keto cold is making sure you are well hydrated, and that you are getting enough sodium, because your body will lose electrolytes while flushing out toxins. You should drink 1/2 gallon to 1 gallon of water a day, which helps your body rid itself of the toxins quicker. Hope this helps! ; D
