Broccoli, ugh

I know broccoli is super duper healthy but I really don't like it. What can I put on it to make it taste halfway decent? I'm good with spicy food but Tabasco on broccoli doesn't cut it!

We like it roasted. Toss it with a bit of olive oil, salt and pepper and roast it at 425 for 20 min or until the leaves start to get crispy. You can mix up the spices to suit your tastes, add some parm cheese, etc10

Have you tried roasting it? Shazam! Or don't eat it. It's silly to eat something you don't like.8

I love broccoli, but lately we've been buying the frozen "steamers" comes with a few different sauces, we like the cheese sauce & Tuscan, didn't care much for the ranch. Only 5 min in microwave. I also sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on top1

I like adding it to stir-frys, or steaming it and topping it with fresh-grated parmesan cheese. You can also put it through a food processor and add it to eggs to beef up the eggs a bit without having to eat chunks of it. But if you really don't like broccoli, there's no reason to force it on yourself.0

Eat something else then.
I love it. Roasted, sautéed, raw, in an omelet, all good.
But one idea is cheese. Another is to include some in a salad and use a dressing you like.9 -
You aren't required to eat broccoli Plenty of other ways to get those nutrients!
That said, I love it just about any way but raw. Roasted with olive oil, a little garlic, and Parmesan is tops.3 -
There's like a billion foods in the world. Don't eat the ones you don't like.
With that said - I agree with the others - roasted with garlic and a little lemon, maybe some Parmesan shredded on top = YUMMY!1 -
Broccoli salad is fantastic. My MIL adds crispy bacon, red onion, miracle whip and a few other ingredients to raw broccoli.1

I found something called veggie tots. They look like tater tots but are made of broccoli. Delicious.3

What about eating some other dark green leafy veggies instead?3 -
Oh. I was going to say hot sauce. I don't know. I can just munch on any dang vegetable raw. I got goals and need to fill up my tummy.1

STEAMED WITH NUTRITIONAL YEAST AND LIQUID AMINOS!!!1

Generally you don't need to eat things you really don't like. That's not going to help you stick with a diet plan.4

While I agree you don't have to eat foods you don't like, there's no harm in trying out new ways to prepare healthy foods. You do need to eat vegetables, so you might as well enjoy them.
One good way to prepare broccoli is to steam it lightly, then toss it with red wine vinaigrette. The vinaigrette can easily be made of red wine vinegar, olive oil, salt, pepper, and a little of your favorite sweetener. You can also add red bell peppers to the mix if you like.4 -
I pretty much have to force myself to eat vegetables...the red wine vinegarette sounds like a winner! Thanks!0

This! Roasted vegetables make me so happy!!0 -
I like broccoli any way. I really like broccoli salad, but it seems to be a potluck thing. Raw, roasted, steamed... it's all good.
What I can't get on board with is cauliflower. Yuck.1 -
I flippin' LOVE broccoli salad, but I can never, ever get it right on my own. I always stuff up the blanching. It's something I'm doomed to only enjoy when someone else makes it.1

When I blanch broccoli or asparagus, once it reaches the correct tenderness, I place it directly into an ice water bath to stop the cooking process. It comes out great each time and perfect for broccoli salads, or marinating cold asparagus in Italian dressing overnight.2 -

Yeah, this is a good answer.1 -

I love red wine vinaigrette (really all vinaigrettes, and red wine vinegar and a good mustard makes a good dressing too). I'm not anti sweetener, but I wouldn't add it, personally -- I dislike overly sweet salad dressings and find that vinegars usually are sweet enough.0 -
Walmart has seasoned broccoli that's delicious! It's in with frozen stuff1
-
Well, if you don't like it, you don't have to eat it. There's plenty of foods out there that you can eat and get the same or even better nutritional value as broccoli.
But if you wanna try to spruce it up to make it taste better, I say saute them with olive oil, add a little pepper. If you wanna season them up, try a salt-free seasoning, that way you won't feel as guilty with the sodium intake.0 -
Def roasted. Then tossed with some lemon juice and red pepper hummus. YUM.1
-
I'm not a fan of it Too however I'm forcing myself to like it. I can't be leaving that much rich nutrition on the table like that. It's tasting better tbh. I season it. That'll improve the taste.1

Roasted! Or...
Steam long enough to just get tender. Cool rapidly. Chop into 1/4 to 1/2 inch chunks. Put in a bowl with a handful of coarsely chopped pecans, and a handful of Craisins. Toss with a vinaigrette--especially a fruity one like raspberry or pomegranate.
Not sure where you stand on mayo, but if you stir some yellow mustard into mayo, it makes a mighty fine sauce for broccoli.
You can also dip it in hummus or pretty much any creamy dressing.2 -
Just don't eat it, eat something else and give it to me1
-
I love roasted garlic veggies with S/P and butter.
Any type- broccoli is especially good that way- but if you don't like it- don't eat it.1 -
I can't do broccoli, hurts the old tum1
