Starting over... again

Hi everyone thank you for being here to hear my story. MFP has helped me twice to lose weight successfully and I'm hoping third time's the charm for losing weight AND keeping it off!
I was at a fantastic weight at the beginning of 2013. Through a sequence of events, and a lot of emotional eating, I went from being 125 to 230 (Which is what I'm at now).
It's been two years now that I hate myself and loathe my body. I hate myself for having ruined being at a good weight. I let myself go sooo much and I despise myself. I think about being fat all day long. And I'm at a point where I don't want to just feel bad about myself anymore, but I want to actually do something to change it.
I'm turning 30 next week and I figure it's a great time for me to turn this around. I actually don't like going out because I don't want people to see me. I can't live the rest of my life like this!!!
Thank you so much for hearing me out. If my story relates to you please friend me. I need all the support I can get and will support you in your journey as well.

Hi mglo. You have done it before so you know you can do it. I have lost close to 60 lbs in the past year. I have another 20 to go. I was like you, I didn't want to go out in public. I didn't want to risk running into someone who had not seen me since I gained the weight. Add me if you would like. I am on everyday.4

Hi! I gained a ton of weight after Mom died in 2010; then gained more when I became a teacher, in 2014. I can say my journey to losing 50 pounds has been slow but steady. There have been months where I gained, then had to lose it again; but, the best part of time passing so quickly is that if you keep on keep'n on, you will eventually reach your goal. I was 209 when I started in 2014. I'm 180 today with a goal of 150. May I encourage you to not be so hard on yourself? Is it okay for me to add that learning to love ourselves helps too? The teacher in me says give yourself a gold star for starting again! -)9

I totally get it!!!! Doing this again myself. I've sent you a friend request.1

I also have started this thing over on myfitnesspal three times. This time I started 3 days ago. I have 15 more pounds than you do to lose. Its a strange thing we allow this to go on so long we undo everything we accomplished. In fact, this yo-yo defines my life for some reason I can not comprehend. On one hand I want to be a normal size so desperately, and know very well what to do to accomplish it. On the other I have this imprint of all the foods I love to eat imprinted in my brain and can not seem to control the portions of to effect the desire for this normal weight. Over the years I have paid thousands of dollars for gymn memberships, yet rarely go. I wish you success, as I wish myself success, in this time breaking the code and learning at last to maintain our desired weight.5

I relate to this SO much!! It's like I know what I need to do to be happy, what to eat... but I just can't get myself to do it. I'm hoping if I push myself these first few days it'll get a bit easier as time goes on.2 -
I've survived cancer, it took me 1 day to stop smoking and have never gone back. I have gone from needing to lose a few pounds to being overweight, to being morbidly obese. I too know what it is I need to do and I know it doesn't happen quickly and that to me is overwhelming. I wake up every day telling myself that today is the day I start to make it happen. Today is the day....... I'm seeing the doctor on Monday.3

I'm starting tomorrow also, we can all do it2

l started my 3rd time from mar 1st/17. it was much easier this time so i guess the experience in the last 2 times helps n i m sure ur MFP experience will help u too. the only difference this time is that l wont be tossing MFP away after i get to my GW because that was the problem in the last 2 times. l will keep using it so i NEVER have to lose weight again
JUST DO IT (u already know how)! GOOD LUCK!2 -
Hi! My highest weight was around 230 so I know how you're feeling right now. Got down to 190 and gain 20 more back. Now I'm down 30 pounds since March at 180.
But like others have said if you have done it once before you can do it again!! Good luck!! You have got this!!

Hi everyone!
I just started using this program recently as well. I'm starting today! It has been very comforting and reassuring to read the support that everyone has been offering each other through this forum. It's a wonderful place to share and give feedback. I'm looking forward to making new friends and starting a program that not only works, but that I can maintain despite life's tragedies and stresses. That's the real challenge! Let's do this together! :-)5 -
Welcome @Mom2Maika! Im on day 6, feel free to add me. :-)2

Wow, that really hit close to home. I'm starting fresh and plan on making it last long term this go round by making some fundamental changes in my daily routine. If anyone else wants an extra supporter, feel free to add me! Wishing everyone a good fight!2

This is my first attempt at MFP and I walked in the gym today for the first time in 10 years. I need all the encouragement and accountability I can get. I have 60 lbs to lose. If anyone is looking for friends and encouragement feel free to send me a friend request.3

Starting again with MFP! 5 years ago I lost 30 lbs...I was diligent and focused...man, I need that again! I hope everyone has a good day...we can do this!2

I find it so interesting how we do this to ourselves. I swore over and over that I would keep the weight off, but 4kgs from my goal (I had lost 14kgs, which took me just over a year to achieve), I got half-hearted about it and re-gained back half the weight I lost by lying to myself about portions and avoiding the scale for the past eight months.
The wake up call was two weeks ago, when a colleague said to me "are you pregnant?" and I answered with "no, just fat I guess?" (incredibly rude of her, but still, it made me realize what I was actually using all those long scarves to hide - my muffin top!)
I am back on track and losing again, but it is disheartening to feel as though I am in a battle with myself. We need to remember how tricky our brains are! We *forget* what 100g is (ie, no full meat portion ever) and tell ourselves that we don't need to use the digital scale. We choose clothes that are more forgiving, rather than putting on the jeans that would immediately tell us things were off track.
I start by taking accountability for the past 8 months, but ouch, its tough!
Good luck, I wish you all the best!7 -
Sounds so very familiar! I have recently recovered from a broken ankle and am relosing some gained weight while I was injured and cooped up in my apartment for 2 months. I am currently working on a C210K program and have lost about 13 pounds since April. Feel free to add me if you are going be here regularly and interact often.1

Hello all! Boy can I relate to some if not all these posts! Let's all do this! For me its 40lbs gained during the wonderful 50's!! It has gone on to long and it does start to affect every aspect of our lives! Being healthy is the #1 priority now as I approach 60! UGH!! LOL Would like to lose at least 10 by vacation time with my family!2

Hello! I can so very much relate! I lost 70 pounds over the course of a year using Weight Watchers and switched to calorie counting when their program was changed at the end of 2015. From there I was able to maintain, maybe lose a little more and then the weight started creeping up. I have now gained back 40 of those 70 pounds. Something's gotta give and I don't want it to be my pants any longer! I would love to have some friends along the way, so please feel free to add me. I'm sure we have plenty of insights to inspire each other.2

I am also continuously restarting. I am 43 and have thyroid issue. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't use it as an excuse. However, no matter how much I kayak, belly dance, hike, walk and bike ride, the scale did not budge! My body weight shifted around nicely. But the scale did not. I do understand inches vs. pounds. But, not seeing progress was very disheartening. In October, I stopped. There is not one reason. But, a combination of reasons. Stress Anxiety Tiredness Laziness. I have been clawing my way back to a good mindset. I miss me!1

I'm in the same boat as you, OP. Just started a calorie deficit and working out this week. Always happy to have more friends!0

My story is the same as yours. Maybe we can motivate one another. I look forward to seeing your progress. We can do it!0

I can relate, I lost 40 pounds last year using this app. I was only 10 away from my goal weight and then I had a miscarriage and directly after that got pregnant again. Now I am 197(130 is my goal weight) I am trying hard to get motivated and loose some weight again. Why is it so hard.0

This is my 2nd retry (3rd time total) .. I have 125lbs total to lose and 118 to go still. Feel free to add me if you like.0
