Green smoothies are great and I drink them frequently as part of a balanced and nutritious diet. But they do not "cleanse" you. That's what your liver and kidneys are for.15

I'm doing it right now and I lost 4 lbs in 4 days so far! I would totally recommend. I'm half way through and I am so glad I decided to do it.2

If your liver wasn't capable of cleansing your body you'd be in organ failure with jaundice.4

I did it in January and I lost about 9 lbs during the 10 days. I really liked the smoothies so I am still incorporating them into my meals every day and eating cleaner. One or two of my meals is a smoothie. Usually just one (breakfast). I'm down about 16 lbs as of today. I have found that my sugar cravings have really subsided and my energy level is up. Obviously if you go back to eating like you did before you will gain the weight back.6

Today is my second day on the cleanse. Why the negativity. Shouldn't we support each other here? I have tried many many times to loose this weight always gaining it back because I go back to eating whatever I want and sitting on the couch while still paying monthly gym dues. I needed another jump start and this is mine. Yes I know the 11th day is coming and the point is to have tried to set a pattern of heathy eating, seeing a difference in how my clothes fit and my body feels, long enough so it will stick this time. Anyone interested in how it's going for me feel free to contact me off this negative chain.2

Not sure how you set a pattern of healthy eating by drinking your food but best of luck loosing the weight!3

Simple answer is because cleanses do more to reduce your wallet weight than you fat. The comments may not dissuade you from wasting your time and effort, but the general hope is that they persuade others to a healthier weight loss plan.
So, no to the blind support.
Now, the downside is it comes across as judgemental, and I'm sorry for that. Most long-term posters here have tried all kinds of things for weight loss only to find out they don't work and that the key to losing fat (as opposed to temporary water loss) is a consistent calorie deficit over a longer period of time than most like.I have tried many many times to loose this weight always gaining it back because I go back to eating whatever I want and sitting on the couch while still paying monthly gym dues. The trouble is that your cleanse is not a long-term (or even medium term) plan and is not helping you get to a healthy way of eating. Better to take your time, read the stickies here and learn a better way of eating that works for you long-term.
Sorry if this sounds negative, it's not.

Thank u guys. I did do the modified version of the cleanse and lost 6 pounds total in 10 days but I lost several more inches than expected. I plan to do it again in the future not for cleansing sake but I do like the way I felt by the end of it. More energy, less cravings for sweets and better sleep is priceless.0

Why don't you just start by doing what you haven't been doing all along which is get off the couch, make your monthly gym fees worth it by actually going, eating at a deficit and last but not least as you have stated above, continue to practice this on weekly basis to set a good pattern. I guarantee you, you'll see a difference not only in your appearance but energy level as well. Think about it, are you going to drink your food forever? The only time I drink my food, is when I feel too sick to eat solids.
