so i don't normally buy pears but im trying other fruits and i found these pears that were labeled "sweet bicolor pears" from Chile at Walmart, they look like Forelle pears to me. it seems calories are all very close when it comes to pears, just reading online says medium size pear (roughly 85 grams) is 100 cals. they been on the counter top for a few days now and the green part is starting to slowly turn more yellowish it seems, so was waiting for them ripen a bit... wondering how long they'll last in the fridge once they're completely ripe. ya'll have experience with these pears? they look delicious!

Looks like something they might call a "corella forelle" pear in aus too...

I eat pears crunchy. I don't like soft pears!

I love pears and that kind (obviously several varieties, but they are similar) are one of my favorites! Yes, eat them before they get too soft. And then tell us, do they taste just like perfume smells?

i'll go ahead and stick em in the fridge to slow down their ripening process, will slice one up and add it to a salad, oats or shredded wheat, mmmm!

Ooh, those look great! I'd slice them and put in a salad with grilled prawns, candied walnuts, and feta cheese crumbles!

i had one yesterday, they're great (remind me of softer apples). i chopped each one up, weighed them out, placed in baggies and stuck in the freezer... ready to go! I was thinking they had to turn yellow to eat but defiantly not the case, they were plenty soft and still quite green.
