Intense hunger

Question for the females.
I was wondering if any other female has experienced something similar to what I have.
I had an insatiable appetite a few days ago.
I ate approximately 5,000 calories which was fine because it was within my limit for maintenance since I do every other day intermittent fasting.
I usually sleep a little while after finishing my feasting however this time was different.
I had intense hunger and cravings that would not go away.
I ended up having to eat one of my feasts two days early to be able to sleep.
I am trying to be very careful so I do not feel that way again.
Have any of you female intermittent fasters experienced asimilar situation?
I was eating more carbs and much more sugar for over a week before this happened.
Could it be that I was missing my additional sugar?
My second feast was lots of carbs and sugar however I know that I definitely had not been lacking in ingesting either one at all.
My fat intake due to having so many nuts has been extremely high so I cannot believe that I was still so ravenous.
It definitely was not only psychological or emotional. There was definitely a physical hunger present.
I could not sleep unti I ate a second feast.
If this happened to you what steps did you take to prevent it from happening again?
Was it possibly simply a rare hormonal occurance?

At least for 2 years.
For at least two months I have been fasting for a minimum of 36 hours.
I used to fast for a minimum of 18 hours before that.0 -

This sounds very much like hormonal hunger. Is it a one off or has it been occurring more often lately? It's possible that longer fasting periods may be messing with your hormones, or that there are other hormonal factors at play. Try reducing your fasting hours and see if that makes things better, if not, get a check up.
ETA: are you anywhere near your ovulation or period?0 -
Right now I also believe that it is most likely hormonal because it only occurred that one time so intensely that it overpowered my will. I think I will make sure to continue to eat extra sugar and carbs too so I have that variety and don't need to succumb to such powerful urges.
