I am so embarrassed by this.I love shoes and now I put them on and they are swelling in a few minutes:(
I realize it is cos I've put on weight.
So I know I need to loose weight and drink water.
When I loose weight will it go down again?
What else should I be doing ? Thanks

When was the last time you saw your doctor? Edema can have many causes, and you should rule them out first instead of just assuming it's because of weight gain.1

This is a community where we openly discuss belly button odor, poop habits, and also boob and penis appearance before and after weight loss. Yes, we can talk about swollen ankles.
There is a thing about a medical condition in which the first and most obvious symptom is 'swollen ankles'. My doctor would check my ankles every time I visited for regular and frequent check-ups while I was obese. I do not know what she was looking for, but she never found my ankles swollen. Simply because you mention your swollen ankles, I suggest that you should consider visiting your doctor and sharing your concern there.
Other than that medical condition, there are other things that can cause ankles to swell. Are your shoes tight? Are your shoes comfortable?
You mention being overweight. How much so?
I don't suggest that weight loss always resolves swollen ankles, because of the medical and other things that can cause it.

My shoes were always comfortable but since putting on weight they are tighter.
I am about 1.5/2 stone over weight.
I haven't been in a while. I will go and tell my doctor0 -

Same as @JeromeBarry1 my doc always checks my ankles for swelling, but I never asked why. But at least they are swollen, which means water, which means you can get rid of it. My ankles are fat, same with the insides of my knees. These. Seem like odd places for a body to hold onto fat, but those are the spots mine picked.0

Doctors are checking for peripherial artery disease (PAD). My doctor always checks, thin or fat.0
