Cinnamon

Options
Can someone explain this? I'm new to this macro counting. I have hit a plateau in my weight loss so really started to watch macros. Why does cinnamon show to be 24.8g of carbs per tsp on this app but around 1.8ish tsp on the Google machine? Thanks

Sounds like an inaccurate entry. Check your nutrition info against what you have in front of you (i.e. The bottle/jar, etc.) and match it to the correct entry.

Not everything in the database is correct .

That's kinda what I was thinking. Just making sure I didn't miss anything. Thanks

Probably cinnamon sugar vs cinnamon spice

Which of course is just a tsp of sugar with some cinnamon or cinnamon flavor

One tablespoon is a crapload of cinnamon. Enough to take down a tiger.

A tablespoon is probably more than the average person would eat (although I have a lot of recipes that call for at least a couple teaspoons). For the average person, not a big deal. But if someone is shooting for a low carbohydrate diet, it's at least something to consider.

6 total grams, but only 2 net carb grams. And net carbs are the ones people usually count.

Thanks for the clarification -- I don't limit carbohydrates, so I wasn't sure.

For "macro counting" I wouldn't assume that. For watching carbs I would.

In normal amounts I don't worry about cinnamon enough to log it, though -- 2 total grams, less than 1 net for a tsp.

The database on MFP is mostly user entries. They're as accurate as you'd expect an unverified collection of crowd-sourced data to be.
