If you can't handle the daily ups and downs of weight fluctuations, then don't weigh yourself daily! Choose one day a week to weigh yourself and stick with that. It will help keep your motivation up.0

I know the feeling. I weighted 2lbs more today also. I am attributing it to water weight and maybe muscle gain. I have been busting a hump..Don't fret over it. Put your scale away, keep on the path you are on. You will feel and see your efforts pay off soon. Hugs!0

Dont get discouraged. This happens for many reasons. Dont give up. I weigh every day to keep track. I will be here for your support! :flowerforyou:0

You should only be weighing yourself AT MOST once a week. Like i weigh myself on saturday mornings when i wake up, after i go to the bathroom, and totally naked. it will give you a more stable result. because your weight can fluctuate so much from day to day, if you weigh yourself daily you will go CRAZY! so stop that right now!
you will be fine, it is a slow process, but it is a well worth result. hang in there! :O) it all becomes like second nature after a while... chin up!0 -
don't get discouraged it can be water weigh yourself once a week....0

just remember it's a lifestyle change, not a diet and you're going to hit some bumps in the road... I've been where you are before and starting weighing AND measuring monthly--that way, I don't stress about, which in turn can make you gain weight0

Hang in there! Sometimes your body will hold on to water weight if you've just upped your exercise level. That should go down in about a week. Keep doing what you're doing with exercise, check out your food and make sure that you're getting in more veggies and fruits (as well as protein) and staying away from refined sugars. Sometimes we need to check the quality of the food we eat--not just the quantity. See what happens when you weigh in next week.
As for exercise, I always tell myself that no one ever regrets having exercised. Besides, sometimes you need the exercise not just to lose weight, but to get a handle on stress and emotions.
Hang in there! We're all rooting for you!0 -
Weighing yourself daily is not recommended!!! One thing I've learned is that if you intake too much sodium the day/night before, you will retain water, causing the scale to show an increase in weight. Don't be discouraged!!! Drink lots of water and continue to work out... also, make sure you are getting enough fiber so you can pass all the waste.0

You are beautiful! The scales are just angry that you have been losing weight. My scales do that too. When you weigh on a daily basis, you are more apt to see the fluctuations in your weight. You could be retaining water from yesterday for any number of reasons. Stay faithful to your body, it wants to be healthy and so do you. Push through that workout knowing that you are going to be better in the long run. Plus, you may want to shock your body and eat a little over your calorie goal for one day. I did this and lost 2lbs the very next day! Just don't go overboard. if you normally eat like 1200 calories, eat 1400-1600; just keep it sensible, don't eat twice your normal intake.
Again...you are BEAUTIFUL and worth the fight!0 -
I literally have to hide the scale from myself and put it in a really inconvienent place like in the shed out behind my house just so i won't be tempted to weigh everyday....stick to once a week, believe me, there is sooo much less stress that way. If your doing the work the results will come....just keep your chin up girl!0

Just had a bad weigh in myself but hang in there! Weighing everyday can be very frustrating with regular fluctuations. Even if you don't see the weight loss right away, the workout will make you feel better. Feel free to friend me if you like.0

Do not give up! The scale will lie to you. Last night, I weighed at a friends house and the scale said I had gained 11 pounds since Saturday morning. Came home weighed on my scale thinking it was the scale, same result. Got up this morning and weighed had lost 2 pounds from Saturday. That's a 13 pound swing overnight. So don't get discouraged, it happens. Just keep at it, if for no other reason then it is making you healthier, even if the scale doesn't move. I usually only weigh once a week, and won't be doing any midweek weighs again.0

Don't be discouraged, you didn't gain two pounds in 24hours, it's most likely that you are retaining water, be careful of your sodium intake as that can cause you to retain water, if you are lifting weights, that can also cause water retention as the muscle tissue repairs itself. Just keep your head up and keep looking forward, you took the first step in decided to get healthy, this is a great site for encouragement, motivation and tips. good luck on your journey.0

We have all been there. If you worked out really hard yesterday your muscles could be holding onto water. I was weighing myself everyday when I started and then I realized I was becoming neurotic about the scale so now I only weigh in once a week. The scale is not the most important thing. It is just one way to reaffirm that you are doing the right thing for your body. If you weigh in every 4 weeks, but take your measurements every week you might be surprised that you are losing tons of inches even if the scale only says a few pounds.0

Don't give up!! I know it is so frustrating when you work so hard, but you can do it and the scale will go back down. I always do better when I only weigh myself once a week. So many things can affect day-to-day. A week seems to work best for me. And I try to remember that it isn't only about what the scale says, its about me feeling better about myself and how hard I've been working! Keep it up!0

Hi. I had the same problem awhile ago. I was exercising and exercising but the scale said differently. However, I kept motivating myself to continue to workout despite the scale and I am back to losing. With all that being said, don't give up it could be several factors that causing that little fluctuation in your weight0

You should never weigh your self everyday your body can fluxuate between 2 pounds a day. Just pick one day a week do it in the morning before you eat or drink anything that way it is a natural weight.0
-
Don't give up! My scale does the same thing, especially when my sodium is high. I've been trying to just weigh myself on Friday and Monday so as not to get too frustrated by the daily fluctuations. Maybe putting it away for few weeks would help you. Have you tried measuring inches lost? It helps to focus on the NSV's too!0

The scale may not be moving into the direction that you want it to right now, but don't give up. You may be gaining muscle and losing fat at the same time, but since muscle weighs more than fat it might be showing up on the scale. Make sure you measure your body, you have probably lost inches off your body since you are working out so hard.
Keep at it, it will happen. Stay focused on the healthier version of yourself that you are working so hard at becoming, and one day you will look in the mirror that version looking back at you with thumbs up and a big smile.0 -
There are SO many factors for your small weight gain - don't fret - and DON'T throw in the towel! Because there ARE so many factors that could cause your weight to fluxtuate day to day - I suggest only weighing yourself once a week. I find that my sanity stays a bit more intact with weekly weigh-ins. Hang in there!!0
-
It IS worth it! Hang in there! You are probably building muscle and replacing fat with muscle. Don't worry about the scale for a while, just stick with the program and it will work. It could also be water weight. Are you tracking your sodium? I find when I'm exercising and within my calories, I still see an extra pound or two if I'm over on sodium the day before a weigh-in. You can do this!0
-
I weigh myself more than once a week BUT the only weight that counts is the weighin on Fridays. That is what goes into MFP as I am up and down and all over the map during the week. When I find myself getting psycho about it, I stop weighing and just do it once a month. During that month, I work my program, eat right, exercise and log everything into MFP. I have NEVER not lost weight when I do that. Maybe not as much as I want or as fast as I want but the scales go down. Its when I don't do it that I end up gaining so I know what it is that works!
Remember, this is a journey, not a quick fix. You are making great choices by eating right and working out. Keep that commitment up and you WILL see positive results!0 -
Don't let the scale get you down ... I have 2-3 pound fluctuations from day-to-day, so I only do an 'official' weigh-in at the same day/time every week. I've noticed that Friday mornings I am almost always at my lowest so that is when I pay attention to the scale (even though I do weigh myself most days - just habit I guess). I have noticed that my weight will go up after I do more exercise than normal, but it will go back down. Take your measurements if you haven't already - they are a better indication of progress than the scale anyhow. Don't give up, you can do this! Slow and steady is the best way anyhow!0
-
Don't be discouraged-be proud and positive about the fact that you are doing it - you are exercising, and not giving up, and that is a sure sign of success! Don't weigh yourself more than once a week, on the same day and same time each week. The scales will fluctuate daily, and that can be very discouraging. Go girl-you can do this:)0
-
I know it can be frustrating, but try not to count the weight everyday. I do weigh myself everyday, sometimes multiple times a day, but I don't worry about fluctuations, because I know it is normal. If you can't not count it and not get upset about it, then I would stop weighing everyday.
Best wishes.0 -

I agree! I would try to flush my system out with LOTS of water in case you did have too much sodium. Keep up the good work it will pay off this is just a little bump.0 -
Thanks everyone....I am putting my scale away and I am going to keep going forward..!!...I appreciate all of the encouragement...Blessings to you all..!!... :flowerforyou:0
