Good Heart Rate Mointor?

I have been using a Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor for years and I think it is finally dying on me because I can't get the watch to get my HR no matter how wet the strap is. Yes, I replaced the batteries in it last week as well, so it's not that. I'm thinking of just getting another one (another Polar FT7, that is), but wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions of Heart Rate Monitors before I did?

I already have a Fitbit One, so please do not suggestion a Charge or any of the other Fitbit HR monitors as I am not interested.

    I have polar ft 4 and it wouldn't get my hr until I washed the strap with lukewarm water and soap, let it dry and it started working again:)

    Thanks for the suggestion, but I wash mine once a week in the washing machine already. :)
