I want to be able to lose a pound a week and according to my online calculation that gives me 1440 calories per day. How about if I burn about 500 calories on a particular day, should I then also take in only 1440 or could that day be more intake in calories.

thanks

MFP is set up so that your daily calorie allotment excludes deliberate exercise. So if you 'earn' an extra 500 calories through exercise, you should be eating at least a good portion of that back. :)

You can eat back those calories. If you enter them into MFP, your day's calorie intake will increase. I usually eat about half my exercise calories back just in case I burned less than I thought though
