Has anyone ever tried these healthy alternatives? From their website they are baked not fried and come with pre measured toppings so you can put as little or as much topping as you want. I saw they do not sell in stores just on website..I want reviews on whether or not worth it.

I've had them, they're dense and a nice snack, shaped like a dough nut, cakey, but missing the lovely decadence that reminds you you're having a treat.

Honestly, now-a-days, if I want a doughnut, I'm going to work a hot Krispy Kreme into my calories/macros. Or maybe a custard filled chocolate covered...hmmmm...oh dear. Maybe soon.

Regardless, I've moved away from substitutes and am just trying to practice moderation. (That being said, I do really enjoy HaloTop Ice Cream.)

If you feel like you really miss donuts and would like to enjoy a costly baked good (I think they work out to $4 each with shipping?), this might scratch your itch. I'd rather eat pancakes.

There are some reviews on the "new products that caught your eyes" thread from someone who had them !

Agreed, i don't like "healthy substitutes" either BUT! Halo top and enlightened ice cream pints are the exception haha. I'd rather save calories for the real donut.

I've purchased their Purple Ube flavored Donuts several months ago, and I really enjoyed them! It really depends on why you're getting them. They're excellent for breakfast as they're VERY filling and I find them satisfying (the glaze was phenomenal and I had doubts it was really as low calorie as they claimed)! However, they are also VERY expensive and for that reason I didn't order them again. I was the only one who consumed them, and I was worried they'd go bad since I couldn't eat more than one in a sitting, so I'm glad I only bought four. Granted, it didn't help that I had to pay shipping costs from them to be shipped from California to Maryland, so maybe for others it's not as bad. My parents tried them, and neither of them liked the donuts. I'm used to eating low calorie treats, they aren't, so maybe that's also a factor. My father said it tastes like regular bread just a little sweeter, but my mother said it dissolved in her mouth and she gagged. My mother sort of went into it expecting to hate it, my father was more open minded.

If you're expecting a donut, it'll disappoint you. It's not a donut. If you're expecting something more filling and satisfying in it's own way and you've already made the switch to stevia and other artificial sweeteners, you'll probably love it. Again, my main complain was the cost. Definitely worth splurging on to try out, though! They're also worth following on Facebook, they have giveaways all the time it seems like! If they sold them in stores closer to me, I would definitely get a single donut every week to treat myself since I wouldn't have to worry about it going bad!

No, but I've baked doughnuts at home (coconut!) and they were yummy. I didn't miss anything flavor-wise compared to frying (but then, I seldom get doughnuts fresh out of the fryer so you get the crispy surface -- they are good that way -- but even if they're relatively hot, if you glaze or ice them you lose the crisp surface pretty darn fast).

I baked them more for convenience than for calorie-cutting. For me, deep frying at home just isn't worth the trouble, the small but real danger of a serious accident with hot oil, the mess of spattered oil, the need to dispose of large amounts of used oil, the added time from needing to cook in small batches so as not to crowd the food ...

I love Halo Top, but only the salted caramel and cookies & cream, have you ever tried Enlightened? Their Chocolate Peanut Butter (don't make the mistake of picking up the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip) is SO MUCH better! So is their Birthday Cake and Red Velvet! That company is seriously underrated!

When you try the Dough Bar Donuts report back with what you think! Again, I only got the Ube flavor so I'm curious what you'll think of the others :) Until they can reduce shipping costs to Maryland I'm probably going to do what lynn does and try to bake my own lower calorie versions using recipes online. If I'm going to spend that much ordering treats online I'm going to be ordering Peanut Butter Brownies and Cinnamon Coffeecakes from Simply Scrumptous haha now THAT'S a company you should try next time you decide to treat yourself! Not protein, unfortunately, but low carb and hands down the best 60 calories you'll ever spend on a brownie! It's more like fudge, really ^-^
