Taking HOURS to get ready. The finished product doesn't reflect that much time and effort.

Mine is that I HATE wasting food and when my kids don't eat all of thier food. I feel compelled to eat at least some of what is left. usually not enough to save for leftovers but hate to put in the trash..........

Now that I have OWNED this, time to let go...........

    What is yours?

I used to have this issue, too (and still do occasionally). But think of it this way ... if you're eating food that your body doesn't need, you're really just wasting it, anyway. Right? That's what I tell myself when I throw out food. (I also serve them very small amounts - they can go back for 2nds if their still hungry - less waste that way)

I eat way too fast. I usually eat my meal in less that 15 minutes. I am trying to learn to slow down & enjoy my food but it's a conscience effort.

15 minutes, to me would be way too long to eat a meal. Unless you're out or something that seems like a really long time to finish a meal. IMO anyways :P

My worst habit is being unintentionally a jerk. In turn making people think Im actually one, Im no white knight or anything but still.

Yeah that's salad, meal & dessert. Lunch now is a wrap & fruit. 5 minutes. My mom can take 20 minutes to eat a sandwich. If I ate until I was full I would eat a whole large pizza by myself. Very attractive on a date :)

I'm not sure what's so bad about leftovers. If we have leftovers after a dinner, I'll package them up and take them to work for lunch for the next day or two. That's better than throwing money away. At least that's how I see it.

My worst habit has to be sweets. I have a huge sweet tooth. Cake, cookies, ice cream, candy bars, whatever. Nothing is "too sweet" for my tastebuds. But while my mouth and brain love sweets, my gut does not. I've been trying to lay off the sweets since i've been doing the C25K. My motivation for this: don't undo all the hard work I've put into the treadmill by eating a bunch of junk.

Wow, this thread makes me realize I have a lot of bad habits!

Tasting (one or two servings worth) while I'm cooking
Eating stuff my kids didn't finish
    Popping joints (feet, knuckles, knees)
    procrastinating
wasting time on internet (but its too hot to go outside & there's nothing on tv)
Grazing in the fridge when I'm not even hungry, just bored.

nibbling while I'm cooking.....and my guilty pleasure is coffee with creamer in the morning :-)

You took all the words right out of my mouth!

My worst habits? Coffee with creamer in the morning.... then NOT eating until about 2pm... And yes, nibbling while cooking.. That one sucks a lot of calories up some days. Popping my knuckles and biting my nails... NOT putting away left overs until they have sat too long and I have to just throw them out. OOPS! But I think worst of all... is sweets. I have an unconscious sweet-o-meter that goes off after eating a meal. Always has... But now I know after reading up on it.. that its most likely just a bad habit picked up in my teens. When you provide sweets to your body after every meal for years on end.. your body starts to expect it. And when you decide to STOP doing so... your body wonders where it is. Its MY habit that has turned into my body's habit.. and that is almost worst of all...

If I can’t do something perfectly, I usually just wont do it… Gotta get over that!

And I’m a horrible procrastinator with things I should not procrastinate with… like homework :/

Pringles. Oh yes. Last week I bought a can and put it up where I can not reach it. I know they are there but I look at them and think its not worth the effort of climbing to get them. Lol...

    Getting stuck into work so much that I;
    a) don't workout
    b) forget to eat.

It's really not unusual during deadline weeks for me to start at 6.30am, work solidly until 4pm, and then wonder why I am losing concentration and focus....and why my tummy is growling! So I grab something very quick to eat (I do make sure it's healthy) and trough it.... it's a horrible habit. And of course, by then, I'm too tired to workout as well. :grumble:

Having said that, this week, I set alarms on my 'phone to remind me to take breaks, and guess what? It worked a treat! No hunger pangs, no troughing, no loss of focus.

I probably do have other bad habits but I don't think they're related to food and fitness!
