Grocery Store routines

Do you have any routines that you USED to do during grocery shopping? For example, I would pick up a donut, or any baked good while I shopped in that area. Perhaps while I was picking out baguettes to eat with butter. And ALWAYS 2 REESES BIG CUPS at the checkout and eat them in the car....and hiding all packaging before going into my house.

No I never had any habits like that...However, now one of my habits is to take my lunch with me while I shop! It makes me realize I am not hungry I am ok I can eat healthy while I shop feel full and I don't buy crazy things! People sometimes stare at me funny but whatever!0

-Grab a Cheese Roll from TacoBell and eat on the way home.
-Stop on way home from work and grab a shake and fries and throw away at a car wash.
-I used to hide snacks all over so it didn't look like I was gorging (which I was)
Sick and it makes me feel terrible!!
Trying hard not to do that stuff anymore.0 -
Nope. But now whenever I go to grocery store, I stay for upwards of two hours -- looking at every single nutritional label (even if it's on something I know I can't eat, won't eat, and don't like). I put things in my buggy, walk to the other side of the store, realize I don't want those things, and then go put them back. Over and over and over again. I can spend a good 20 minutes in the bakery section, picking up boxes of cookies and donuts and looking at all the cakes. I drive everybody nuts.... Nobody in my family will take me to the grocery store anymore.0

hmm..my usual supermarket is arranged in such a way that tends to discourage me from impulse shopping. The entrance is near the produce section, with most of the store to the left. The bakery, meats, eateries are to the right. I have a wheat intolerance and the meat at Wegmans is much more expensive (with the exception of bulk amounts of chicken when on sale) than Aldi's so I almost never pass through that section to even be tempted. And I never go down an aisle unless it has something on my list (randomly perusing 20+ aisles would take way too long) which means I don't pass through cookies/chips/candy aisles. My memory sucks, so I always have a list (auto-sorted by store section). I do sometimes impulse buy at Aldi's (especially when it comes to temporary items), but usually set those aside for dinner parties (they're usually desserts/hors d'ouevre items).0

There is a Mc Donald's in my grocery store. Seriously unfair.0

hehehe. poor thing. I guess we're fortunate...the sushi, fruit, and salad bars are all much closer to the (main) entrance than the "bad stuff" (pizza, etc).0 -
i used to go grocery shopping & spend anywhere from $150-200 and stop at some fast food joint on the way home. So dumb!0
