I am looking for the cheapest of the cheap recipes that taste good. So far I found crackslaw, egg roll in a bowl, chicken stew, fat head pizza, taco soyp, tuna casserole, and big mac casserole but I'm not sure how cheap this is all going to be for a big family.

Roast a full chicken in the crockpot with a little water and bacon fat (or butter), serve with green beans and a side salad. Look for sales. Lots of recipes on line for kicking up the favor if you want, but not necessary. Serve sugar free pudding for dessert. Whole meal (serves 8) is about $8 total.

    came here to say "eggs".

Eggs are a food staple. You can pretty much live off of them, they are versatile, and they are inexpensive.

Otherwise it's all about buying what's on sale. Sometimes broccoli is on sale. Sometimes it's cucumber or squash. Sometimes chicken thighs are cheap, sometimes pork chops are on sale, etc.
